Mario Harvey, Anyone Still Interested?

Steelers cut Harvey today. I'm just curious if anyone thinks we should take a look at him as a PS player?

Umm... tough. I'd like to keep him as a PS player, but he did get cut for a reason. He didn't look liek a bad player in college, but there's a reason he went undrafted and then cut. If we get him great, but we already have plenty of ILBs, and he probly wont help.

Also the Saints cut rookie safety DeAndre McDaniel. A lot of people, myself included, really wanted the Ravens to sign him when he went undrafted.

The thing we have to remember is that these players were undrafted, and then cut. They must not be [i]that[/i] good if that's the case. As intriguing as Harvey and McDaniel were as prospects, it seems that they were not as good as once thought.

The Steelers were actually using Harvey as a TE the last 2 weeks of the preseason... I'm not sure that indicates he's a stellar prospect at LB/DE.

In fairness to them, the Ravens cut Jeff Saturday as an UDFA and he went on to be a pretty good center. Same goes with James Harrison. Just because someone was cut doesn't mean they can't make it in the league.

I say time to make it even.... we cut Harrison and they signed Harrison who became a great player for them, and now it's our turn. I say bring Harvey in, and honestly he probably could excel under Pagano and our Defense. Bring him in Ozzie!

Heck yeah. I liked Harvey a lot heading into the draft. He does have a lot of question marks, and there is a very real chance he'll never make it in the league. But he's got a ton of potential as well

As much as I hate the Steelers, they know their linebackers. So if they cut one, there's a good reason behind it. Perhaps they like him, but want to stash him on their practice squad, who knows. But if they're just cutting ties with him altogether, then I'd rather just pass on him.
