Foxworth Could Be Cut? Or Even A Trade?

18 posts in this topic

Accroding to Jason La Canfora, Dominque Foxworth could seek a trade or a cut! Not suprising me, I think this would be good for the Ravens, make the young guys start for a chance and he is not 100% ready with that knee injury.... Also it would free up alot of cap space...
-Your thoughts?

He would seek a trade? No way, he's making bank and has a shot to be on a winning team. I could see him being cut, the trade? Not so much, mainly because he's making too much , coming off of injury and put some bad tape out there against the Redskins.

It wouldnt surprise me to see us move Foxworth, but besides Carr who is nursing a hamstring issue Foxworth is our only experienced CB on the roster.

I agree that I don't see the trade coming for him, more likely a cut. Beside, who would want to trade any pick for a "may be" above average CB just coming off an ACL injury and making like $7million this year?

The dude was drafted 3rd, traded to the Falcons for 7th pick, and then becoming FA next year.

But I think he won't get cut due to lack of experienced CBs on our roster.

PS: J. Smith and Cary will turn out to be one of the best duo CBs in the league *drool*

If we had kept Wilson over Carr, I would be all for this move. But we didn't we have Chris Carr. I don't like him starting. Carr is a great tackler but can't cover worth crap and whatever guy is on him will get the first down everytime.

I wouldn't mind trading him to get rid of what he is taking up on the cap for the Ravens and if we get a decent draft pick...thats a bonus. The Giants need CBs.

any chance the Eagles cut Samuel or DRC? I would take either one or both over Foxworth right now.

DRC? Not a chance. He's only 25, has fantastic upside, and is due to make under $1 million in 2011.

This makes no sense. Cut Foxworth? What happens if one of our corners goes down? We need a group of corners to play in our defensive packages -- nickle, even dime. God forbid we have an injury amongst our corners, the next guy has to step up. We let Webb get his legs back from injury last year, so do the same thing with Foxworth.
The one thing I would demand in the whole Foxworth scenario is that he take a pay cut next time a contract issue comes up. Foxworth restructuring his contract based on productivity would put us in a better position with the next major salary-cap decision.

So who exactly would be our starting Corners? I know the combo of Jimmy Smith & Cary Williams was good, but you don't think the team would start them do you?

That is why we would probably bring another corner at 1/3 the cost who has equal ability.

I agree. Jimmy Smith OR Cary Williams would be better in my opinion than Foxworth against the Steelers. Lardarius Webb could also start. Chris Carr would be best suited in the nickel.
