Your Thoughts On Michael McAdoo?

I have a feeling waiver wires in general might be even quieter than usual this year, with the number of guys in camp and the limited time to assess, I think most teams will be scratching their heads over their own guys rather than worrying about people on other practice squads.
You make a very logical point but some teams have a full fledged scouting department whose job it must be to evaluate other teams' cuts right?

Well, he made the team so the Ravens see something in him they really like and feel they would lose him on waivers to the PS.

looks like a lot of people were wrong. I think what helped him the most was the fact that after TWO years off he came in and played like he did. There is something to be said for not knowing the system looking at a few plays at most and come in with that kind of explosion he may well be another that makes oz and co look like a genius.

I'm in shock that he made it. Not complaining, just surprised. He made the team in one game, as mentioned above. But, it looks like the sky is the limit for this dude. We are stacked with pass rushers.

I'm surprised he made it, but I'm excited at the same time. He has the potential to be a very good pass rushing OLB. He just needs to add some muscle.

A little premature to say the least...but if he shows something this season (assuming he gets some playing time), could he replace JJ next season? I kind of doubt JJ will be back after this season.

Assuming J.J. isn't re-signed next year, Kindle and Kruger will be battling to replace him. McAdoo did well to make the club, but I doubt he becomes a starter for a while, if ever.

JJ probably won't be back, and that might have something to do with us keeping so many LBs this year. McAdoo, McClellan, Kindle, and Kruger are all potential future starters at OLB. Kruger's my pick to win the job though. I feel like Kindle is (currently) too one dimensional to start. Kruger is better in coverage and against the run.

McAdoo may be a good third down guy for us, but idk how he sees the field in a crowded OLB position.

McAdoo making the team came down to Ozzie not feeling comfortable that another team wouldn't pick him. He'll be a weekly inactive this year.

He seemed to get a decent push. He needs to gain some weight and hes gonna be something special. 2 years removed from football and getting a good push and in on a sack is pretty impressive

i dont really understand this move he has a little time with the team and is under weight so i am confused as to why he made the team with some other players such as

DT Bryan Hall (Arkansas State)
LB Josh Bynes (Auburn)

who in my opinion made a much better impression just sayin!!! i say bad move

A 6 '7" guy with athletic pass rush skills is very good. It's even more impressive when you factor in that he didn't play any ball last year.

you can't teach 6 foot 7 inches. I'm glad we kept this kid. 21 years old and great things ahead of him in purple!
I don't think we could have kept him on the PS. We have to bring this kid along

..thought he went "unclaimed" in the supplemental draft? Respectfully, it's hard to imagine the FO would burn a roster spot for a guy they thought might be weekly inactive. You may be right of course but I suspect the coaches and Ozzie saw something in this guy they liked. I, like most Ravens fans, will be watching this one.

I predict several more roster changes over the next 3 weeks. McAdoo might end up on the PS yet.
GOOD CALL!

Just came in here to post this. i think Ozzie and Harbaugh felt he was the most likely of the guys they liked for the PS to get claimed, so they kept him for now and they will try and sneak him onto the PS later this week when they try and sign a vet at another position.

Thought he had PS written all over him but maybe they wanna utilize his size on FG Blocks?! Shame Bynes didn't make the team, oh well, he was my Tony Fein of 2011. RIP.

This guy could be a god ST guy for us this year. With his frame he could probly add 20-30 pounds. He's a little lean at 6'7 245.

Frankly the only thing I know about him is he is a lanky tall dude who has the ability to become a beast in a couple of years... the coaches obviously see something in him that they feel strongly about. Otherwise they wouldn't have cut the likes of Gooden, Bynes and Burgess in his favor...

This kid may have the special 'it' factor that we haven't yet seen!

Dare you to call him lean to his face haha. Its funny how I was thinking the same thing and I'm 5'11" 170lbs and I'm calling this guy small.

But your exactly right. The ravens owners obviously see potential that the guy could be something. He just needs a year or two to bulk up and sit out. But it seems like he has potential for sure

Neither was Troy Polamalu.

I need to watch that movie again. A year in an NFL weightroom will do McAdoo a lot of good, he looked very slim for an OLB - Maybinish almost. If he bulks up, keeps the speed, and gets the technique he'll be a monster. Easier said than done.
