Your Thoughts On Michael McAdoo?

87 posts in this topic

Plus, I think we should sign him because I like saying his last name. McAdoo....I think I'll use that word interchangeably with "cool" and "nice" and "awesome. For example, "Hey, I just got an A on a math test (or, whatever)." Response: "McAdoo, buddy....McAdoo."

PS - he's not any better than any of the other players slated to make it. Maybe the Ravens can fudge an injury to put him on IR and ensure another team doesn't pick him up but he won't be on the 53.

He seemed to get a decent push. He needs to gain some weight and hes gonna be something special. 2 years removed from football and getting a good push and in on a sack is pretty impressive

They have to give him a shot to learn and see what he can make of himself. The only thing that bothers me is before these guys can be put on our practice squad they have to clear waivers and some of the guys that I am hoping to keep around might not last long on the wire. It's the nature of the beast but a guy like McAdoo can't make the 53 but is worth sticking around as a project at the least.

Find a place for him he's showed he can help even with being removed from football for 2 years. Let Sizzles teach him up and let him gain some weight and he could be a terror

Practice squad, great to see him out there. I doubt anyone will sign him to their roster off waivers when he's been out of football for two years. Great play though.

I'd bet he wouldn't clear waivers, he's good enough for at least a roster spot elsewhere

I have a feeling waiver wires in general might be even quieter than usual this year, with the number of guys in camp and the limited time to assess, I think most teams will be scratching their heads over their own guys rather than worrying about people on other practice squads.

It's IR or PS for him I think. The odds were too firmly stacked against him when he was signed.
yeah deano I agreee...please, please don't let me see this guy get picked up by the, (gulp), stillers!

IR him. He won't clear waivers, but he shouldn't make the roster. Next year, he can compete for an impact role.

Ummm... don't you have to be injured to be put on injured reserve? :)

Fudging is one thing, but he looked okay last night. To tell the league office, the next day, that he's out for the year?

I was thinking the same thing. I have heard this before on this forum but never said anything about, but I don't think it works like that. If the guy isn't injured he doesn't get put on IR!

I like him. He's TALL and his brings the pressure. I think we should keep him! What are your thoughts?
Fixed it for you. I really wouldn't classify him as big. Didn't think he was any better than the guys ahead of him. PS maybe.

McAdoo can really Sack-a-Dude!
When we signed him, I was like... eh.

I watched him last night, and on one play he pushed the OT right back into the QB. If he's only 240 lbs and can do that, he really might be worth keeping...

He got a sack last night so maybe he does have some ability, I think he makes the PS and the Ravens have plans on turning him into a pass rusher at some point.

I don't think anyone believes he will make the team but he is definitely hitting the PS. A real off season working with the team and trainers, lifting weights will do wonders for this guy. Plus he would be awesome on special teams for blocked kicks!

Wow you guys are crazy if you think he's too good for PS after one play against the 3rd and 4th string in a preseason game. If another team had wanted him, they would've signed him instead of us. If McAdoo didn't want to be here, or got a better offer, he wouldn't have signed with us. McAdoo is extremely raw, was suspended two years in college, and needs to greatly improve his strength and physique before he can become an impact player.

Do you think that, after all the roster cuts (30+ players PER TEAM) this guy is going to be signed to a roster instead of all the other options out there? Teams are going to be cutting promising young players or experienced veterans all over the place because they're forced too. Do you think that after all that analysis, watching players in practice, seeing how they handle the system, some team is going to cut one of their own to sign a player with as many question marks as McAdoo?

Don't have much to gauge him on other than the last preseason game. I have hope for him developing into a good player next season perhaps.

I know he's not injured, but it's actually common practice for some bubble players to be IR'd with "mysterious injuries." It's actually not uncommon.

Could put him on the PUP list. It's easier to get away with him not being injured if he's on the PUP instead of IR. Plus, if one of our LB's or DE's were to go down with an injury sometime after the first 6 games, we might even see McAdoo make the roster. Who knows?
