49 posts in this topic

Alot of people are saying that Josh Freeman ( Tampa Bay Bucs QB) is better that JOE FLACCO!!Yeah Josh had 25 TDs and 6 INTs, but hes not better that Flacco....Flacco has led his team to the playoffs 3 times ever sinse he's been here.... Josh .... Never. This is why Im tired of EVERYBODY hatin on Joe! Joe is good! Everyone makes mistakes... Joe has been learning every year to be a better QB. Somebody is always saying... Joe is not confident... Joe is not this..... Joe is always making mistakes....Well... He will show every single commentator, critics, who names it... that Joe Flacco is a good Quarterback!! Even better than Josh Freeman!!

-Your Thoughts:)

Not to be a jerk, but if you're tired of the debate, why make a topic about it?

It's gotten to the point, where I don't even read Flacco topics anymore. I only opened this one because I haven't heard too much about Freeman vs Flacco. Still, annoying to say the least. Lol.

To stay on topic, Flacco's better. He played against better defenses. Freeman is in a division full of soft defenses.

The very premise of this post is offensive to me.... and I am sorry I didn't read through the whole post because there was no justification in my mind for the question to begin with.

Why is we always comparing Flacco with other QB. Enough is enough...just leave it alone. Flacco is Flacco, Freeman is Freeman and Ryan is Ryan. We all kno that Flacco is better than Freeman so why waste your time debating it. It doesn't matter what the outsiders think. They will never respect the ravens and our players like they do other teams. We all kno what we have in Flacco and that's all the matters.

New here but I don't think I have to sell anyone on Flacco. If my memory serves me correctly, the two squared off last year and Flacco made Freeman look silly. Am I just imagining that?

Not bashing Freeman, he's definitely an above-average young NFL quarterback, but he's not Flacco. Couldn't even make the playoffs with a ridiculously weak non-divisional schedule.

No you can't. Freeman had a dreadful rookie season and had a soft schedule last year. Flacco has three seasons under his belt where he lost to the eventual Super Bowl champ/opponent in the playoffs. You're seriously hating if you think he's better than Flacco.

We will see after this season but I do hate how everyone says Flacco took us to 3 years of playoffs. The Bucs don't have a Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs, Haloti Ngata, and countless other Vets. They have Ronde on Defense and Winslow on Offense....If Freeman was drafted a year earlier and played in Baltimore, I believe he would have just as much success.

Rest easy, playa. Think about it like I've done. Exactly one year from now when he's wearing a superbowl ring, he'll be considered a top 5 QB and a god. Then the likes of that fraud Jamie Dukes, Warren Sapp and all the other haters will be like

"Joe's my guy. Never ever doubted him"

Then Mike Lombardi will go "Didn't you like Matt Ryan?"

And their response will be priceless...

"Who?"

The media...

Gotta love 'em.

As good as Freeman's numbers looked last season, he went 1-6 against teams with winning records and who made the playoffs.

On top of that Freeman struggled with every top 10 defense he faced.

So I'll say the same thing about Freeman vs Flacco that I say about Ryan vs Flacco.

Don't tell me how much better any one of those guys are better then Flacco, and use his poor performances against the Steelers as a measurement. Because both Freeman and Ryan struggle with top defenses and neither guy has to face the Steelers 2-3 times a year.

Put those guys in the AFC North, hell just put them in the AFC and their hype trains wouldn't be nearly as high imo.

Nothing personal to the OP but I thought the lockout would end the countless "Flacco vs. ..." or "Flacco criticized by ..." threads. Obviously I was wrong.

The regular season really can't get here quick enough.

The only thing I like about Freeman over Flacco is his scrambling ability. Other than that Joe has a proven track record of winning that Josh does not. I'll take proven performance any day.

Freeman is a very good QB with a high ceiling but as of now Joe Flacco still has the edge. This could change in the next few seasons though.

Strength of schedule and opponents say otherwise.

It's so relative.

Do you use team success, wins, playoff wins?
Do you use passer rating and completion percentage?

And how do you account for a team's offensive line and receivers - you can have a great passer with no offensive line and no receivers... or, of course, a substandard QB looking good because of a great supporting cast.

USA Today ranked Flacco as the #10 QB... however, they ranked Mark Sanchez #11, which says volumes about USA Today... ;)

But, I think the quality of the passing defenses QBs face definitely factors into a QB's "rating"...

Look, the Bucs weren't supposed to do anything last year but Freeman played well much thanks for Mike Williams and Blount at RB. The media loves to pick and choose their favorites thats just the way it is. Freeman doesn't have a proven track record yet, let him play for a few years and we'll see where he's at.

Joe Flacco takes a lot of heat and like him I dont understand it

Baltimore Ravens have been known since the beginning of the franchise a smash mouth football team, sometimes labeled by other team as bullied Ravens. We win mostly by playing lights out with the defense, comparing to the average offense. When Flacco's era began 2008, we start won more games with the offense, and the media started to pay more attention on Flacco. However, their perception of Baltimore Ravens hasn't changed as a physical football team, so they seem to compare Flacco to the whole defense in term of winning games. As a result, Flacco takes more heat than most other QB in the league.

This critique on Flacco's success won't change for awhile until Flacco starts to put up big time stats and wins more SBs.....

People get over emotional over false statements. Freeman better than Flacco is a false statement.
