I Have Failed To Get....

Autographs...

So I work a Regal Cinemas in Hunt Valley, and that seem to be the hot theater for Ravens players...

The first person I saw a few months ago was Brian Billick, when I was there hes was very shady and laid back (not looking to talk to many people I suppose) anyway he went to go see the Mummy, and I had a perfect chance to get his autograph... but I failed.

Two weeks ago I met Todd Heap. He was a really nice guy, with a really cute wife, and I shook his hand and everything and talked to him a bit, but was to scared to ask for his autograph... He saw Batman btw...

Then today (and you guys will hate me for saying this) but I saw Ray Lewis, his wife, and he was with another person and that persons wife... anyway I am talking to Ray Lewis, he was loud and very exciting, not really caring if people notice him... Not only that but he was eating his popcorn and he took two bites with those huge hands of his and finished about half of it... lol... Well I got a hand shake out of him, but didn't ask for his autograph... But here is the part that I hated most, the person that he was with (that I thought looked familiar) turned out to be Lorenzo Neal! So I am talking to Ray and asking for a hand shake and really kissing up, while poor Lorenzo was standing there not being noticed.. lol (Hes making millions, I am sure he didn't care) But still I felt bad...

Any way what I am trying to say is, I met all these players.. and well one coach, and failed to get their autographs. I am so mad at myself. I still think it was really cool to see Ray and Lorenzo going on a double date to the movies... That was freaking sweat.

Oh a Ray and Lorenzo went to see The Family that Preys.. Not a choice movie for me, but I may see it cause they did. :D

P.S.- Completely off topic to Ravens Players, but another person I have failed to get an autograph by a few years back was Micheal Phelps. He attend my High School when he was a kid. (Towson High School) Anyway he was walking in the hall ways, and I saw him and never went up to him... >.>

ANYWAY- I thought I would share this with you all.

lol, that's too bad... To me, if I see the players in public, with their families, I don't feel it's polite to patronize them for autographs (that's what Training Camp is for!). I prefer to let them be in peace.

Thats part of why I didnt do it, with Todd at least... Ray was just be obnoxious... I dont think asking would have offended him, I just got to scared to ask.. lol

Man. I used to go to the Hunt Valley movie theater all the time when I lived up in Cockeysville. Never once did I see a player up in that area anywhere. Bummer.

that is cool you respect them like that.

There is a web site that tells you when players are doing singings.
I think it is signingshotline.com or some thing like that.

Intrestly enough it is like twenty to fifty bucks per autograph :(

Thats cool, my mom met him a while back... Hes like a 20th cousin of my moms or something... lol Seriously though he is somehow related to her... But its something really out there... technically they could have a kid together without it having 6 toes, but still cool I guess...

... Wait so that means he must be my 21st cousin.. lol

Yeah I rather not pay... I will just wait for them to come in my theater again. :D

I do want to ask at least once.

If players like Yamon Figurs, Joe Flacco, Kyle Boller, Troy Smith, Ray Rice, Leron McClain, or some other players like them came in, I would ask without a problem...

I would also ask Matt Stover if he came in, because he has come in a few times when I wasnt there, and he is known to be really really nice... and he does it for anyone who asks, I think he even had signed pictures with him one day...

He seems like a really cool person, someone I would really love to meet.

Bart and Steve were doing business with their bank representatives, so no. Mike Flynn and his wife were leaving the Safeway, so once again no. I talked with Mark because he came in the GameStop to pick up the new Need for Speed and asked if I knew anything about it, etc. It was really cool, he's really down to earth and a very nice guy.

i think talking to the players is better than a autograph. they are people just like us and i don't really get the fascination with a signature? most of them are down to earth, of course with a few exceptions

I would have challenged him to a game of Madden 09 lol. Must be awesome to see these guys, talking to them for 2 or 3 minutes is definitely worth tons more then an autograph imo. Never met any guys like this, must be cool though

I collect them for my daughter.
They all but one are signed "To Arielle"
( I know that makes them worthless, but she loves it. )
She has Jonathan Ogden, Musa Smith, Kelly Greg, Mike Flynn, Ray Lewis, Bart Scott, Adam Terry, and Clarance Moore.

It gets her excited to see them on the field. ( those who still pay for us that is. )
A seven year old girl. At least she is mildly intrested in the sport.

I met Ray lewis one time at his resturant in B-more. I'm sure you Balitmore natives have Heard/seen the full moon cafe? Yeah well he was there on ravens day or somethin and he had an interview upstairs with TV cameras and everything. He had just finished playing the winner of a madden tourni in the championship game ( pretty cool) I remember he gave this one kid 100$. Anyway, my grandma was so persistent in getting me and my twin brother up ther, that whoever was in charge( I guess Ray?) allowed us to come up and talk and get pictures ( no aoutographs, though) I recall Ed reed was there but I didn't speak to him( heck I barely tlaked at all, I was so awestrucken!) Coolest moment ever.
