The Steelers Look Good...

38 posts in this topic

I took some time during this preseason to watch what are arch rivals were doing with their team. The played very well against the Eagles but, Michale Vick didn't have a great game either. Now, having watched them beat the wheels of the Falcons I'm having trouble justifying their win by mistakes made by the other team. Their defense looks as a good as ever, and their receivers look fast and confident.

The Ravens have appeared to be a bit shaky in the preseason. I was curious what other thoughts might be circulating in fellow Raven fans minds? Are you uncertain about this match-up? Any predictions as of yet in regards to this game? I'm interested in seeing some thoughts on this.

Thanks for the comments.

their defense didnt look great against the falcons. and from what i hear from steeler fans, james harrison could be done. he has a nagging back injury that usually only gets worse and worse

To say I was uncertain would be an understatement. I have seen them and then saw us falter a few times, now it was pre-season and all but still as Ray would say, "football is football." Now I don't know about predictions but I will say this if our O-line does not gel quicker than I have ever seen than odds are we are going to lose because the steeler's will just sit back in their zone blitz schemes and rock Joe all night.

That being said I do believe we have all the tools to win and believe that Joe can take us there but can our o line give him what he needs to do so. I think we may give this one up but turn around later in the season and take it to them,

It's preseason.. everyone's holding their hands close to them for week one, don't buy into it, plus i cant see the sqeelers D being better than last years they only got older, and as someone stated above, harrison isn't feeling too good, plus i firmly believe our offense got a lot better, its just up to cameron to finally pull his head out of his [profanity deleted]. Our play will determine who wins week 1 we have it all on paper now lets see it happen, i wouldn't be able to handle losing to the steelers the way we did in the playoffs, and then start the season the same way. i believe.

I know its PW3 which is starters vs starters, but the atmosphere is completely different, like there not trying 100% Who wants to get injured on a big play? No one. They're playing it safe, and anyways Falcons D sucks. Big Ben won't have time to be in the pocket waiting for antonio brown with T Suggs and Ngata right there, and Pollard blitzing.

the falcons threw it 60+ times and only had 300 yards and 16 points

im happy with that

The Steelers are extremely good, don't kid yourselves. Their offense is dynamic and can hurt you in many ways; their o-line may not be great at pass blocking, but they are good run blockers.

Simple reality is as much as I hate to say it, the steelers are a great team.
Both games are our toughest every season and this one will be no exception.

Any one who says "Steelers suck" have no business talking about football.

Why would you want to turn a winning franchise around ?!? That would be counter productive I think. Anyway they did not change anything they just knocked off the rust quick is all I am saying. Their guys have seemed to gel relatively quickly.

Is it a place to praise a divisional opponent? I don't think so.....

Btw, our defense is better them, and the only thing we lost to them is we always tend to over do ourselves when we're leading. In another word, we choked at clutch time.

won't happen this year......

It's Pittsburgh...those <yellow> colored deviants were born for football. And thank god for that. Our teams are gifted with two super bowl games each year because we both know how to handle our biznaz.

If we don't play well in the clutch, we lose. If we do, we win. That simple.
That is a pretty blanket statement. At what point is something considered "clutch"? Does it have to be in the last 4 minutes of the 4th. Or maybe the last 2 minutes of the 2nd.

To say that you need to be "clutch" is somewhat vague and doesn't really give any insight as to what the Ravens need to do to win the game in the end.

It depends on the situation. If were down by 4 and need to drive 70 yards in 1:30 for a winning TD, we have to. If we need to do that and stop you from driving into scoring range, do that.

It is vague, but I only say these things because the Ravens have not been able to do these things in our losses. They've all been close but not close enough.

One word-preseason.
Exactly-
I watched the Falcons Squeelers game and agree the the black and yella team looked good.

Here comes the huge BUT-
In the preseason who knows what the Falcons were trying to do. They may have been trying different pass routes, timing patterns, and lord knows what else.
Meanwhile the Stealers seemed to be trying to play all out and make up for that Redskins beat down. They got their panties exposed on national TV and were pretty red faced about it. Watching the Eagles game they came screaming out of the gates and hitting harder than you normally see in pre season.

Anyone remember when the Skins went 4-0 and were anointed the SB champs before week 1. Think they went 7-9 after that.

Ravens will be fine- we will have a real strong showing in week 1 and it will be a slobber knocker as always.

Ravens by 7 at the end of the 4th!!
