Purple Punishment

Detroit Lions

So, I watch ESPN everyday to get my sports fix. Over the first 2 preseason games, the sports network is saying oh they are so great! they are gonna be the Super Bowl favorites, and any other generalized pro Patriots comment. As they should, because they have shown themselves to be a Juggernaut in the preseason.

Here comes the Detroit Lions. They're rushing just their front 4 and owning the hell out of the Pats O-Line, getting to Brady and embarassing the Pats in my opinion.

According to ESPN, oh its just the Preseason and the Pats were treating it like a Week 3 Preseason game and the Lions were treating it like they were in the Super Bowl. So let me get this straight, when the Patriots beat up on a weak Jaguars team and blow out a Bucs team that has yet to have played some real competition, the Pats are all that? However, when the Lions straight up own them, the Pats weren't trying hard? Sad that they cant give any credit to the Lions. Instead, making every excuse for the Patriots.

Well, come on. Its the Pats. They are the end all, be all of football. Especially with the Grand Dame, Lady Brady.

people will just never understand how Brady under pressure= no production. People act surprised by the game. Give the Lions some credit.

ESPN always contradicts itself. This is exactly how it is for all the major "media darlings" of the NFL. I guarantee if we go out and beat the Steelers.... ESPN will come up with some excuse for the Steelers, say it's only week 1 and it doesn't matter, *insert some comment to degrade Joe*... trust me it will happen with every team.

Back to the Lions, ESPN will never give them any credit where credit is due, if the Lions go out and win 10 games, win the 6th Seed, and win a playoff game, it will just be because of *insert a comment that doesn't give the Lions credit for their season* and pretty much that's it.

Lol but let them meet and beat the Pats in the Super Bowl and ESPN analyst would say they knew it all along

Stafford just won't stay healthy

But if he does.... They have every chance to make the playoffs as a wildcard team.

Isn't Fairley still injured? I don't think he even played in that game. And that line was still dominant. That's just scary.

With that said, I still don't think they'll make it to the playoffs this year. I do think they'll make it to .500 though.
