Lee Evans foot in a boot

I kno they better let him rest this week. There's no need for him to play this week. He need all the rest he can get. I expect them to start Reed, Doss and Torrey even if Flacco plays a few series.

I'd like to see a series with Joe under center and the starting O-line with our 2nd and 3rd receivers along with Allen as RB.

I agree all the CBs should get reps in there.
definitely! while Flacco did me right the other night by "passing" for TDs, i still think that our offense needs to learn how to get off to a great start...maintain a crisp flow and top off the drive with a TD. we are heading to the ATL this week and then after that....the steelers will be upon us. we gotta get some stuff cleaned up quick, fast and in a hurry offensively before those ketchup kats come to town. lol!

How can anyone misspell boot? Anyway, I think that Evans will be fine in 2 weeks. Let him rest in the last game. He certainly earned it. There is little doubt that he is coming into the season as our #1 WR. Even Q can't get downfield to make the big plays like that. If Evans isn't ready for the Steelers, then we run and hit them with the short passing game. Q, Rice, and Doss have great hands. It's all going to come down to whether or not we can put pressure on Rothy and stop him from killing us with the deep ball. I hope someone picks up the Polly overload blitz this time.

if u referring to me, i typed it too fast and ended up with bott

thats how

i know right? Everyone on our PS / bench is a stud. Cary is a stud, Laquan is a stud, Berry is a stud. Just our annual hype machine....man I miss football!
Cary is actually living up to the hype tho, fly. He is playing solid against starting receivers. Laquan is going up against guys who won't be on active rosters. I understand the hype being out of proportion for Laquan, but Cary is going to be lining up as one of our Starting Corners against Pittsburgh.

and Cary has been doing it the past couple years, that shows consistency

I think LaQuan won a spot on the team, coach admitted he had a lot to work on with special teams tho

Its going to be close. If he is going to take the spot of Marcus Smith he will need to pick it up on special teams. I do think we will end up having him on our active roster.

Im hearing rumors that its not that serious... Cam says hes alright and hes just probably wearing a boot from hurting it anymore than it is...... Its prob. just a sprain or bruise...

Which is ridiculous to me. Look at a guy like Marcus Smith, has zero potential on the field in any capacity other than a gunner. While you need guys like that on your team, why would you get rid of a guy who actually has potential to contribute to an offense?

Marcus Smith was another bust. Special teams is his best shot. I'd love to see Williams make the team. He's been looking good so far. Evans sits and Torrey Smith gets a chance to show that he can start. The Steelers will be ready for us so we need to get our rhythm together. Flacco has not been consistant.

During practice open to media, no sign of Lee Evans (hamstring), Chris Carr (hamstring) or Mark LeVoir.

Okay, I am officially confused now. Boot? or Hamstring?
This is making me a little nervous lol

Im with you Grapple Raven... i keep clicking on the posts hoping to get some clarification... having Evans injured doesnt exactly give me a warm fuzzy... we need him fast and furious to spread the squeelers defense...

That must of been a typo. I hope he didn't go from a foot/ankle injury to a hamstring injury. That would be very concerning.

Yeah you dont weair a protective boot for a hamstring, dont panic Ravens fans throughout Lee Evans' career he has been a warrior and never really been injured. I'm sure he will be ready to go come week 1

If you watch the coaches they dont look down or concerned so Evans injury isnt anything serious

Well Aaron Wilson fixed his typo shortly after that post

I guess we'll find out Thursday night. Harbaugh doesn't like to give out a lot of info.

Lee Evans is the key for our offense progression. I hope nothing is serious.../pray

I've always said he is one of the most underrated receivers in the league. Never had a decent QB in Buffalo while he was there and he still put up solid numbers. Heck, come to think of it, Buffalo hasn't had a QB since Jim Kelly.

I was listening to Scott Van Pelt on ESPN radio today - and he agrees with you. He said Cary and Jimmy have earned the starting job at CB with Carr as the nickle - which echoes what most people here think.

Of course, he's from Maryland, originally... a Univ of MD grad.

He also said Foxworth may not make the 53 man roster... ?

You know I've been hearing rumors of that. And at first I thought that was crazy. But thats how it is in this league. What have you done for me lately. And we aren't going to pay you a lot to be a below average player. We will see, but if the ravens are going to cut any vet that would kind of be surprising, I would say Foxworth's name has to be in the discussion

I think Foxworth's 4 year, $28 million contract will be an anchor that could sink him. I wouldn't be surprised if they told him that a pay cut is the only way he makes the team...

Channing Crowder was the face of the Dolphins defense last year... and now he's unemployed.

NFL - Not For Long.

The face? Ehhh

He was a starter but there were a lot of more important players on that defense.

He was just the MOUTHpiece... kind of like Joey Porter a few years ago. NOT the Steelers best player, but the loudest.

He'll be ready to go for week 1, they are holding him out of this last preseason game but Lee Evans will be playing come week 1, I'm almost positive.

Thats all I care about, I want us to be full go when the regular season starts, we've been lucky this far to avoid injury.

I just want to finish this preseason up healthy.

True that! Knock on wood but we have been doing ok for injuries this camp. The lockout probably had something to do with it and a lack of training camp. If the Ravens could avoid the injury bug (which they have struggled with in the past) this year then it could be a fun year for us. But injuries are part of the game. We will see what happens when the games start, and how teams and the power rankings start to look after a few key injuries occur.

I'm praying for Week One to start with him on the field. I've basically made all my bets with the Ravens on Evans staying healthy and finally giving Flacco a serious home run threat to throw to...

I'm just hoping people don't freak out when we don't go deep as often against the Steelers. I can see the Ravens gameplan being toned down due to the fact that the O-Line is still working to get into game form. And since its the blitzing Steelers we are playing against.

I hope we DO try and stretch the field with Pitt if anything. I think it's been too damn long now that our offense hasn't been able to expose their average cornerbacks (minus the Housh play). We know we have trouble running short passes/running plays against these guys. Now we have our weapon.. let's use him!

I just have a feeling that Evans' foot in the boot is sign of him rest his foot for week 1, which means he will sit out tomorrow game. I think he should rest it up cuz he's shown what he's really made last 2 games already.

It's time for Torrey to step up to be Evans' backup....

He needs as much rest as he can get, but hes gonna need to practice all of next week imo to get ready for Pitt. The 2 to 3 weeks he been here still ain't that much time when you think of it. Hes still learning the offense.. so he's gonna need all the reps he can get to prepare for the steelers. We need the whole offense to be ready that's why I also think the offensive line should play a whole quarter in tonites game. September 11 is a big game so we need no excuses.

We need to take shots though, especially against the blitz to Evans. Otherwise its the same old Ravens offense that doesnt get it done against the Steelers, minus one game. Even if we go into the huddle and Evans isnt 100% and just tell Torrey to run as fast as he can straight down the field, we need to stretch that defense out.
