The Bills have managed to re-sign one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL for...$39 Million over 6 years with $17 Million guaranteed.

Considering Williams plays a similar position to Ngata and plays at the same level as Ngata (NFL Network, ESPN etc. don't recognise it, but they're all stupid) do you think this deal has any effect on the one we give Ngata?

I mean, Williams is only getting that and it means whittling away the rest of his career on a losing team. Surely Ngata must be looking at the deal Williams just signed and be slightly irked by it, to say the least.

I hope so. Both are coming into their 6th season, are just a year apart age wise. Both were their team's best Defensive Linemen, by far, and both were extremely dominant on a consistent basis. I'm still a bit shocked that Williams will only make an average of $6.5 million per year. I still have a feeling that he'll be looking at Suggs' contract for a comparable, but hopefully, this one evens things out a bit.

I think the comment that Bisciotti made in his press conference the other week about "finding it hard to give $60M away" (or something like that) was more indicative of a figure we can expect Ngata to receive. I expect his contract will be 5 or 6 years and around $60M.

It's just a pity that the Bills aren't likely to sort out the rest of their team for a playoff run because they've done really well to get Williams to re-sign for such good value.

while thats not quite relevant, in today's NFL you do need a stable QB, even with a dominant defense. Thats why we only have one Superbowl.
