Anthony Allen Or Jalen Parmelee Or Both

79 posts in this topic

I say we keep Allen.Thursday was my first time seeing him play and I was very impressed.I have seen Parmale play the last 3 years and have never been that impressed. The only reason he has been here this long is because of his special teams skills, but after seeing Laquan Williams on that punt return, I am convinced that he and David Reed could be our returners.Plus, I think Allen has more upside being that he is only a rookie.

Paramele has outstayed his welcome. I've noticed a trend that the Ravens will keep you around for a few years as a backup and give you a chance to climb but after a certain point they cut ties. it has reached that point with Paramele. He had his chance on ST and never took it.

Nah, I want Allen either way. Whether its 4th and 10 or 4th and 1, I want Allen. He's bigger, stronger, and faster.

Allen definitely. He runs with a mean streak to him. He doesn't wait on things. He finds the hole and hits it with a pretty good burst for a power back.

I thought Parmele would have had a shot, but all of these new rules negate his ST skills, because there are plenty of guys that can do it just as well.

Kind of wish we could have seen more of Berry though. I like that guy. I hope he at least makes the practice squad, because the 53 man looks like a long shot at this point.

Hey guys, first post as a member, Iv'e followed the forum for years but finally decided to start an account. In my opinion at 6 foot 1, 222 pounds there's no question. Allen has the size and physical style that could really help us late in games against physical teams like the Steelers, Jets Ect. I like the way he runs north to south and he isn't too easy to tackle, he also seems like a much better blocker than Parmelee. People also tend to forget that Georgia Tech's passing option offense is nothing like the offense we run in Baltimore there completely different, and Allen could still be adjusting. This guys another late round steal from ozzie.

No Damien Berry love?

However Anthony Allen all the way.

He's undrafted, deep on the depth chart, has been battling injuries and his hands having been the best so far. The writing is on the wall. He'll definitely be somebody we'll try and put onto the PS. But other teams notice which areas teams are deep at. He might not make it to the PS.

Allen all day, Parmele runs the ball way to high. Vision is bad also. Keep Allen this kid could be the real deal.

BR.com has Allen at 6-0 229
Williams 5-10 230.

Allen is taller and one pound lighter.

I am not sure what that amounts to in the big scheme of things.

Allen will stay. He has the size we need to contrast Rice and Williams. He's big enough to block on 3rd downs and in the red zone. All he needs is to put some stickem on his hands so that he doesn't drop the short passes.

Anthony Allen kind of reminds me of an inexperienced Steven Jackson. A powerful runner who also has speed to go with it. He definitely wins it over Parmele, no question asked.

I don't think both are likely even though it would be nice... but my sense is Parmele will be cut and will make a nice roster addition to a team like the Lions. Allen just by his performance in the pre-season will be hard to cut.

Allen's listed at 229, while Ricky is listed at 230, same size. And it's a little soon to judge their strength, but their roles are very similar. They both excel at pounding the rock, although Allen has yet to do so in the regular season or against starters. However, Allen is a very strong back as is Williams.

Keep'em both.

There isn't enough room to keep 4 tailbacks on the roster... very few, if any teams carry more than 3.
