Anthony Allen Or Jalen Parmelee Or Both

79 posts in this topic

I hate to say it but when I see A.Anthony run, he reminds me of Chris Johnson. He is lightning quick. Traditionally the 4th game of preseason is played mostly by players looking to make the team. It will be interesting. I would hope to keep both.

As a 3rd year player, what kind of money does Parmelee make ? Any one know ?

I'd take AA over Parmele any day, reason why is because AA brings that power run game to this team, and I really love power running teams, and if we're bringing a power run game to this team, AA is the guy to pick.

Allen has way more potential then Parmele at this point. Parmele is a good back and would do well elsewhere.. I just like the bruising running I have seen from Allen.

How about we cut Ricky Williams? lol

Yeah, I like this idea as well lol He hasn't impressed me in preseason.

I like Parmele, was always rooting for the kid but if it comes down to one or the other, Allen gets my vote.

Here is information on ravens payroll for 2010 as reported by pressboxonline link

Parmalee earned $470K in 2010. I think the NFL rookie salary is in the $365K range.

For the Raven's, it's not about the money.

I would love to put Allen in on 3rd down or goal line situations. I really LOVE him. I know we have Williams but I wish he could be our #2 back,

I agree on Allen, I think he has a lot of talent and can develop into a quality back in this league. Parmele is not really needed anymore IMO.

I do still like the Ricky Williams signing. He didnt cost much, and he brings experience to the RB position that we wouldnt have had if Allen is the #2. You still have to keep in mind the chance that Ray Rice could get banged up, and if that happens is Allen really ready to take the majority of carries? Can he throw quality blocks in Pass-protection? We saw Ricky throw a nasty block last night that saved Joe's butt.

Your right about the Ricky signing. The team really brought him in for his pass blocking ability. It'll come in handy if the o-line struggles.

Cast my vote for Allen, he hits the hole harder and more decisively and he gives it to whoever is trying to tackle him. They have to earn it. Parmele is too....blah for my liking. Theres nothing he does well, and nothing he's terrible at but theres just nothing behind his runs it seems like.

Ant Allen seems to run fiercley like he is angry at the defenders for even trying to tackle him. His hands are a tad stoney, but so are his fellow rookie T Smiths

Anthony Allen can definitely be our #3 RB. Parmele's only real value is on special teams, and I think David Reed has shown that he can be our kick returner. Cut Parmele.

my vote is for Allen.
Get a nice block from Leech and let him do the rest.

I like this guy, I think he can do some damage. I DONT want to see he be a bench warmer though.

I would like them to hold onto Laquan Williams and if that means they need to let go of a RB, get rid of Parmele and keep Allen. More upside on Allen.

Parmele sucks. Ive never seen him do anything as a RB to impress. AA has a chance to be a good RB IMO. Cut Parmele, keep AA. Simple. With the new kickoff rule - there will be no need to rotate returners because there might only be one return a game (for example). This will provide new depth at otherwise shallow positons, and reduce the probability that a player will be kept exclusively for special teams purposes. Meaning... bye Parmele, hi Allen. haha.

Anthony Allen, no doubt. We definitely can't keep both, there's no sense in carrying 4 RBs, when its hard enough to find enough carries for 2 RBs to split. When we signed Ricky, Parmele was essentially cut. Allen is already better, and has upside. Parmele wont get much better, in fact, he just wont get better at all. He doesn't have enough value to keep.

Both would be nice. But if it comes down to, one of them has to go. Keep Allen hands down, he has showed raw power and nothing but good running. I no he has only ran against third string defense's, but hes looked promising.

Nah, I want Allen either way. Whether its 4th and 10 or 4th and 1, I want Allen. He's bigger, stronger, and faster.

We picked up Ricky because he blocks like a fullback. Did you see that block last night? That was awesome.
That block was amazing. Joe was like "Crap here comes another sack" and Ricky was like "I'll just pick this guy up for you"

btw I say Allen
