The Ravens, The Refs, And The Rest

The biggest thing in the NFL and in football in general is the fact that when the whistle blows whatever the play was called cant be challenged.. So what the whistle blew, if the ref made a mistake, change the call.. problem solved. i've seen too many plays that could be game changing but "the whistle blew" call comes up. Refs make mistakes and thats fine, its a fast game and stuff is hard too see somethimes, I just dont understand why there mistakes cant be changed or reversed.
just like in the SD game, Big guns Ed made a mistake and admitted it, he's IMO the best ref in the league and the only ref who will admit His mistakes, but His call should have been able to be overturned, even He thinks that. But "the whistle Blew" rule came in effect.
Baltimore seems to be picked on when it comes to calls, but if your looking hard enough you will see calls that should be made against the Ravens not get called, same as the other way around, we see a block in the back on a Raven that wont get called, but were looking for it.

You're absolutely right. If a Browns fan watches the game this Sunday (if they have any left... :D ), they'll be watching the Browns' players, and think they see penalties committed that aren't called... while Ravens fans will be seeing non-calls on Ravens players.

But the "whistle was blown" garbage calls HAVE to be changed - but do you force a team to use one of its challenges? If the refs make an obvious mistake, like in the SD game?

You just got to live with it. Our team is one of the "Bad Guys" in the league. Ever since Art Modell went against the commish, to bring a team back to B'more, we have been a "Bad Guy Team." I'm not saying we are The "Bad Guys," that is clearly still Oakland for Al Davis's antics, but we clearly get the short end of the stick on many occations. None of this is coincident. Still don't agree, how about this one, Art was essential to the creating of the "Thanksgiving Day" game and "Monday Night Football" amongst other things, but he isn't in the Hall now, and he won't be inducted until after he dies. You can bank on that one. Go ahead, try to argue that one.

and how would it be bursting my bubble???
you argued that 4 years after the browns left Cleavland their team with their roster one it all for another city. that is not the case. a lot of Pittsburgh and Cleavland fans get off on that as a way to put the ravens down. i guess your not one of them, and i didn't mean to sound confrontational

The "bad blood" between the Ravens and the Referee's dates wayyyy back before this franchise became known, before how much beloved team idols in Jonathan Ogden and Ray Lewis even were born, this seemingly never-ending saga has dated back to the mid 1950's. When the Baltimore Colts were the pride and joy of this city, and i think that the fued between the two sides/parties has only increased over the last 20 or so years because we now have advancements in technology that we didnt have back then that would clearly state the obvious facts on one play or another that the Referee's were against in some form or another.

This seemingly never-ending fued isnt something that has happened over night, on the contrary, i've talked to quite a few people whom were around back when the Colts were in Town and they all said that the "fued" has been around for a looooooong time, since back in the mid to low 1950's, "back when i was a little youngin" but i think its gotten progressively worse throughout recent history because, the advancement in technology has allowed certain plays or whatever else to be reviewed ( i.e. the Browns game last season and that field goal attempt turned good and the Patriots game last season) that should never have been reviewed, now call me biased and what not BUT the facts stand as is, look back on the history of Baltimore football, you'll see it.

Some of these calls (i would have to admit though) are ourplayer's own fault (trying to have a non-biased oppinion on this matter) simply because of the fact that they should know what to do and what not to do, they should know the snap count, they should know not to do anything illegal or anything of that sort. So does it kinda evn itself out a little? to some it might, but to most of, if not all, Raven/Baltimore Football fans out there in this world, no matter what anyone says or does, the referee's are still against us.

Fair enough. I was stating that I understand the bitterness that Cleveland fans feel. Not that I care all that much...
