Would You Classify Matt Ryan As "elite"?

SportsCenter just ran another segment on Joe Flacco and whether or not he should be included in the "Elite" echelon of quarterbacks. Merril Hodge was the analyst, so of course he began talking about Ben Roethlisberger and his beloved Steelers, and how Flacco cannot be considered "Elite" because he does not have the mental aspect down yet and he has not won the big games.

Flacco has taken so much unwarranted criticism this offseason to the point where the media is beginning to sound like a broken record on the Ravens and our QB. Numbers don't lie. Flacco is on well on track to becoming part of that "Elite" echelon.

Matt Ryan, who Flacco should be compared to because he came out in the same draft class, has also had success in this league. But unlike Flacco, who is constantly in the media's doghouse, Ryan is a media darling, drawing frequent comparisons to Peyton Manning.

Flacco straight up has better numbers than Matt Ryan across the board. While it's close, numbers just don't lie. To people who say the Ravens have a better team, the Falcons have a pretty darn good team too, and they play in the NFC, whose upper crust teams are not as good as the AFC's. Flacco doesn't get compared to Tom Brady, with whom, minus the SB's, he is on a similar path.

Unlike Flacco, Matt Ryan's status is never questioned by the media. Do you think Ryan is an "elite" QB, and do you think the media thinks Matt Ryan is an "elite" QB?

I can't stand Hodge. Everytime he talks I mute my TV. It sucks that Flacco can't get the credit he deserves, but patience is a virtue. We should see him make a huge jump this year in a lot of ways as a QB. Matt Ryan is good and I have a lot of respect for him, but we all know he'll always get the edge so I'm done getting mad over it
