My reaction will be anger & disappointment at first then I'll look at it as okay 15 more games to play and win to steal home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Because ultimately I feel like we need to finally have homefield.

Every year I always feel like the Steelers and the Colts are the teams for us to beat in playoffs to reach our potential of a superbowl.
Last yr I knew if we beat Steelers we were in the superbowl because I didn't feel that neither the Jets or patriots ( my thinking before that game was also decided ) could beat the Ravens.

The only way I could be totally disgusted is if we suffer significant injuries while losing. Because when Steelers and Ravens play people walk away bruised and battered to the point of being vulnerable the following week...

So if we lost I would hope that we don't have any injuries that could cause us to lose multiple games.

Then I'd probably hit the casinos up and get drunk until I pass out in the Bellagio parking lot but not before I find a Steel Skirt fan and punch him in his face.I'd wake up the next morning and drive home(of course I don't drink and drive) then I would proceed to hang myself out on the balcony of my 4000 square foot home.

Will I be upset? Nah. Disappointed? Nah for the team will look ALOT better as the season progresses. For young weapons on offenses and defense should have more games under their belt. I rather be hot going into the playoffs then have a hot start. I would gladly take a loss in week 1 then a loss in week 19 to the Steelers in the playoffs.

Good point.

The disadvantage of this game being Week 1 is both teams ARE bruised and battered after facing each other. We have to play AT Tennesee week 2 - and the Titans, even though they're on a downtrend and we should definitely win, are a very physical team. The Steelers play Seattle at home - one of the true powderpuff football teams in the NFL.

It figures...

Wow, you guys that will not be ticked if we lose to Pitts or some that say they will not even be disappointed...I need some of what you are drinking.
I guess I take this all a bit too seriously. Heck I even hate loosing pre-season games.
But too not even be disappointed if we lose to the STEELERS...wow.

Maybe I need to calm down and start watching baseball. :D

I know it always seems like they get favorable scheduling over us regardless of both teams win-loss record from previous yr. Every year the NFL somehow, matches the Ravens against either the Colts or Patriots to basically see hour defense against there offense in a "chess match".
Or last year, it seemed like every week that we played a team the steelers played them the following week, so it was like we deliver the body blows that allowed Pittsburg to get the early tko.

Well, the actual schedule is based on how you finished last season... but WHEN you play them isn't.

Pittsburgh plays Indy week 3 - and Peyton may not be back, or - if he is - he may just be getting his groove back, by that point.

We play them week 14. Of course, Manning will have plenty of time to get healthy and get his timing down... ;)

At least we get the Colts at home.

But of all the casino lots, that'd be the one I'd prefer to pass out in (if I had to pass out in one of them).

of course you would be happy either way......but if your looking for the media to fawn all over flacco for out performing our 4th string QB
then you dont think falcco is as good as i do......because thats what a top QB does

Brady wouldnt get praise for beating the colts with painter or i guess collins now

so expecting it is foolish
I still say Flacco beat the vaunted Pittsburgh Defense, from behind, on the road... It isn't as sweet as it could have been had Ben been playing but I wasnt complaining.

My point was, Flacco has never went against Ben head to head... He goes against the defense.

How many times, have both the Steelers and Ravens won a game when the QB didn't out play the opposition? Many, so to say its a direct competition from QB to QB is a bit silly..

I honestly might cry. I know that I will break items around my house and go into a depression for the rest of the day at least and probably the following day. If harrison gets a forced fumble or polomalu gets an interception I will actually not know what to do with myself.

At least we'll be done with the Steelers by week 9. I can't deal with another late season division-blowing mistake, this way we'll get it all out of the way early. Less pressure = good with our recent history against them.

Of course I woulden't be happy but im not going to cry about the first game of the season. Well maybe a little lol, but hopefully we get better and get to the super bowl the seasons are always diffrent but our goal remains the same SUPER BOWL! Theres always bumps on the way to the top of the hill and the steelers if we lose and big if. Are just a pile of doodoo that we would have slipped on before we make it to the top!

its not a head to head thing.......flacco can score on our defense, but most of the games he loses against us he scores at some point too

but the difference is that he has to match or exceed what ben does to your defense,,,compared to matching charlie batch who broke his arm throwing an incomplete pass one time

its like bowling or golf where your competing with other people but not directly.....but its still competing to do better than your counterpart

If we lose this game, I will spend 2 days deleting posts like crazy because people don't seem to be able to abide by the "No Profanity" rule. :-(

I agree, it's about keeping pace at that point. You know how it goes; it is usually one play or so that sets us apart, and unfortunately for us, Jenn makes that play more often than not. I have a good feeling about this year, we seem to have made some moves that were directed right at you guys, and I think they are going to pay off. I just hope we all make it out healthy. Well, except maybe Hines lol ;)
