Worse than I thought it would be here in Richmond...lost power since 4pm, tree punched a whole through my shed, blew siding off the house, my brother in laws truck crushed by tree and I'm about 70 miles from the coast! Good night Irene! Hope this thing peters out and goes away!

Seems ok here in York so far, as far as I can tell (seeing that it's still too dark to see out the windows).

Power went out at around 0300 for a few seconds then came back up. Listening to the wind howl, I'm very grateful I didn't have to sleep on the third floor last night.

As far as I can tell from the current radar, south-central PA will be out of the storm by early to mid afternoon. And the most astounding thing to me is that 2/3 of PA is under this storm system!!!!!!!

Hope everyone weathered last night without losing too much sleep!

Haven't been to bed yet. When the big trees behind my house came down, they just missed the bedroom by about 15 feet so I'm pretty glad no one was in there. My grill went for a ride, though. Power went out 3 times but is back on now (knock on wood).

Had to leave OC Friday, i ended up just going to my parents right across the bay. And their home is less then a 1/4 mile from the shoreline. We had boarded up the house and the storm ended up being a dud here, incredible. Light wind, rain. OC hardly got anything really, cant believe it.

Heading up to cape cod early tomorrow right after the main chunk of the storm. I'm going to see if I can help clean up any debris there.
Yeah I think it was overblown by the media.

No question. They LOVE to sensationalize everything. The weatherman said "it weakening" and the anchor was quick to note that it wasn't really weakening, just becoming "less strong." Then, when the reporter in Seaside Heights, NJ was reporting that everything was fine, yadda, yadda, they immediately cut to footage from last night with the wind and rain. They just didn't want to relinquish their hold on us. haha

Back guys, came home to a nice surprise. Trees from across a neighbors fence crashed through the fence and into our yard, literally ending up about 7 inches from our house. My backyard is littered with trees. One tree uprooted and has 2+ feet of water in it.

Seriously, you know it's not terrible and not worth an evacuation when you see reporters standing on the beach while it's happening.

Yes! I know they just are like standing there. It can't be that bad if u can stand outside. They want people to watch more weather channel!

I'm glad that everyone overreacted rather than showed up unprepared for the storm. It could've been much, much worse.

I'll take the storm being "lame" and "disappointing" and "overhyped," over thousands of people dead. With all of the flooding and some of the damage done in VA, VT, NC, and NJ, imagine how much worse it could've been if people hadn't been evacuated.

We went from having something like 70,000 people without power down to 15,000 as of today, but still a concern. Lots of flooding. My area lucked out since we're higher up, but there's people in many parts of the state whose homes are a mess. 40-50 homes significantly damaged, which isn't a lot, but the pictures of the damage are staggering. A couple of hospitals had to evacuate their patients because of flooding. Thankfully, no casualties reported but two people went missing.

Delaware didn't get it nearly as bad as VA and other places.

I think it was overhyped, but thats a good thing, as Franny pointed out. It wasn't nearly as bad as the media said it would be, but there are areas where its really bad. People have died, homes wrecked, power outages, etc... God Bless them.
