i live on the eastern shore in caroline county, i doubt we are going anywhere, they are saying by the time it hits us it will be a tropical storm and ive been in plenty of those, we should be good, no chance of flooding where we are

I live in Queen Anne's county, on Kent island if you know where that is. I wasn't here yet for Isabel, but from a storm that wasnt even a direct hit, it was incredibly bad. I know it was due to storm surge, but there's been evacuation talk already.

haha of course i know where kent island is, i drive thru it all the time or used to and i had/have friends up there

which is crazy because you'd think most of the ppl on the shore have to travel across the Bay Bridge at some point..so theyd drive right thru kent island

Cursona, I wouldn't even bother leaving. Massachusetts is already starting to issue evacuations. Cape Cod will be the first area evacuated. Might as well not even bother driving all that way.

I just remembered the fact that I bought a 2 1/2 gallon container of water that I didn't use when I was housesitting (a month and a half ago). *chuckle* Plus I've got containers I can fill.

Looks like you folks in MD are already starting to see the outer rain bands. They'll be up here with me this afternoon (which is good cause I still have a little bit of prep work to finish).

If ya have to go out, don't drive through standing water!

well im hoping my power doesnt go out but as this thing starts creeping up the coast I can hear the wind start picking up..and when has the power not gone out during a bad thunderstorm haha, damn it

im trying to watch UFC 134 tonight too...we'll see how bad the eastern shore gets hit..but this thing has weakened and will probably just be a tropical storm with winds of 40-50

theyre freaking out even more up north in new york and stuff...we've had storms like this before, usually only thing that happens is some flooding, some trees down, and power outages...i hate losing power, it can takes days for them to get it back online

I am worried about my friend who I haven't heard from in several hours. I realize though that cell phone service may be out in that area. I warned them a week ago that I had wanted them to come to me so I know they're safe. Maybe they shouldn't have been so stubborn and came to me.
