Felt it down here in Richmond, Va, niece said she felt in Woodbridge, Va. What's weird is, I live in Ca. for 12 years and that's the strongest quake I've ever felt

Don't forget to start stockpiling oil. The one who has the oil reigns supreme!

USGS says it was a 5.9 that's pretty big for the East Coast.

tremors can probably be felt anywhere on the east coast depending on the strenght, sometimes tremors or aftershock are just as strong as the original quake

This is the only time I've been glad I'm not living in Baltimore.

Scotland's never had an earthquake. Ever.

Baltimore and the east coast hardly have any earthquakes. Strange and scary at the same time..

The earthquake originated in VA . 5.9 I am pretty close to VA border and it was quite strong.

The USGS Earthquake Hazard program said the epicenter was 27 miles east of Charlottesville. We felt it here in York..I'm getting reports from my FB friends that the waves got to New York State.

http://earthquake.us.../usc0005ild.php <--- the report from USGS (even though Poe beat me to it)

Hope everyone is ok!

Your time will come. We had this one and one last year, but before that , pretty non-existent. This isn't a common thing.

That's why we must prepare for Waterworld!

Wow... what's odd is that I live by the Charlotte Motor Speedway here in Concord, NC and they posted on Twitter they felt it, yet I was driving home and drove up near the track and didn't feel a thing. I hope everyone is alright and I hope it doesn't come near where I live.

Wow...I am just blown away....

Baltimoreans, please be careful. The news is reporting gas leaks in downtown Towson and a couple other places

2 nuclear reactors in VA taken offline.

ALL National Park sites in DC are shut down for damage assessments....

No news on aftershocks (yet).
