our split back shotgun formation is going to include Leach or Williams in pass protection that entire game though.

We have enough explosion in Rice, (the 2 TE's), Evans and Boldin to keep 1 extra guy out there to block... Leach looking like a HoF blocking artist...

I hope McKinnie plays in the Falcons game. I want to see if he's quick enough to stop the pass rush. With his size and mass, he can definitely stop someone rushing from the front, but if he's not quick enough to stop the blitz around the end, then we will be seeing Taylor starting before long. One thing is that the overload blitz is hard to stop. We executed it well with Webb the past 2 games. The Steelers game is going to be a low-scoring heavyweight fight that will end up in one team winning by 3 or 4 points. I will feel great if we win this one because it may set the tone for the whole season.

I really want to see McKinnie against John Abraham. Abraham is an outstanding pass rusher, who should provide a very good test for our newly acquired LT.

Starters dont play much if at all in the 4th game..i've read that Harbaugh has actually sat the starters for the last game in preseason but i cant remember if that goes for everyone or not..

They have to get McKinnie some real game reps before the Pitt game... Under normal circumstances, I'd day they would play a series or two (if any), but McKinnie will play, IMO.

In McKinnie's presser video he sounds confident, he says he's going to dominate and we'll see a lot of pancakes this year hopefully on Harrison in week 1!!! haha, he sounds motivated, he said it takes him 3 or 4 days to get the calls down and he's ready to go

Well it is the OL he's playing; nothing really complicated about that, so its not like there would be some prolonged adjustment period. I'm just more concerned about whether he is physically capable of protecting Flacco like he should.

I think he can do it and do it well, but only time will tell..this move could look brilliant in a few weeks or it could look a train wreck

keeping Joe healthy is key

Yea, it would be a major surprise if McKinnie doesn't play along with the rest of the O-line playing.
