In an outbreak of violence that raises fresh concerns about stadium security, rivalry between gangs -- not just among feuding fans -- apparently touched off clashes at the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders exhibition game that left two men seriously injured.

Though police remained tight-lipped, a source familiar with the investigation said friction between Nortenos and Surenos is suspected of sparking the worst confrontation -- the shooting in the parking lot of a man wearing an "(Expletive) the Niners" T-shirt by another man wearing an Oakland Raiders jersey. In an unrelated incident, a man who was savagely beaten in an upper-level men's bathroom remained in serious condition Sunday.

A third man in his 20s -- who was also shot, apparently in the face -- was in stable condition Sunday. Other brawls, some of which were captured on cell phones and posted on YouTube, also marred the preseason game at Candlestick Park.[i] <mod note--please only post a snippet and a link--copyright laws>[/i]

I don't understand, We never have issues with our annual Redskins Preseason game. Raiders fans should all be taken down a notch.

You guys can't really think it's a smart idea to get between animals and their food?

If multiple people choose to WILLINGLY get into a fight with each other, there is no chance in hell I am intervening, I'm not going to put myself at risk for a bunch of witless barbarians.

Now if an innocent bystander is "jumped" or unwillingly harassed and abused, then I can understand intervening and would then do my civic duty as a human.

What are you crazy? You'd be the only one jumping in and they'll just have another person they can gang up on and beat down. It's Raiders fans. Just like how you don't feed the animals at the zoo.

But I do hate when I see people standing around taking pictures laughing, etc. Makes me shake my head at the human race. If I were there, I'd be getting out of dodge. Reporting it on my way out.

Actually, nowadays, I feel the best you can do is to take video/pictures. That may be the only evidence that the authorities have. Isn't it something like 50% of eye witness are wrong when it comes to describing a perp.

A video doesn't lie. But I know what you mean about hearing people laughing while a person is getting their head stomped in like that is something to laugh about.
