As much of a fan as I have been for him to make the team, I don't think he is going to. Can't be mad though. Long as our team improves, Im happy. I just really had high hopes for the big receiver this preseason.

I was thinking the same thing during the game last night. He's done here. He had more than enough chances when our team was thin at WR. Now he is being outplayed by 2nd year and even rookie free agents.

Yeah there is NO way he makes the team. Evans, Boldin, Torrey, Doss, Reed will be the top 5 Receivers. I think Williams goes to PS (I could be wrong, he could make team)

Ya just depends if Laquan can contribute on ST, but I don't see how he would be cut if he continues doing what he's done so far.

Yep, Harper, Hardy, Marcus Smith and Brandon Jones - all 4 "veterans" - will be on the outside looking in, watching the 3 rookies take their spots.

It's a shame Hardy was injured throughout the preseason because I think he has a lot of potential still to become a decent receiver. He also has the size at 6'6 that we could use.

Why are we having this convo. I thought it was an already forgone conclusion that Harper is gone. He had his chance in the past but bailed on them. Marcus is gone to. No need for his ST with the new kickoff rules.

Good point, I just wish he had the opportunity to prove, or "un-prove" his capability of being on an NFL roster.

No chance, and I feel bad about saying it because these guys must be working their butts off

(Just saw the old Ravens Hard Knocks a few days ago so I'm in that mindset haha)

Marcus Smith and Justin Harper, I call them the hand clappers, all they do is clap their hand together in discuss after each bad play!

I think I've wasted enough words on him. I can't remember how many fluffpiece articles were written on him about his potential, it was like Demetrius Williams all over again, only DWilly had an excuse.

Harper and Marcus smith have been trying to live up to their practice workouts for years now. I can remember reading OTA reports and minicamp reports over the years of how they were performing and it always seemed like right after a good review on either of them like it was a kiss of death because an injury would always follow...
Now after years of injuries stalling their developments, they have played out their practice squad tenure with us... Best of luck to these guys. For years I hoped one of them along with Demetrius Williams would breakthrough and give us a weapon but that never occurred.

Is James Hardy still on the team?
I can't remember seeing him in either game and I've watched both games 3 times lol

I hate even thinking about Demetrius Williams. We couldnt draft a WR for 5 years thanks to him and Claytons "potential" but we have 2 good vets in Q and 83. and we have Doss, Smith, Reed and Laquan Williams(i think thats his name, hes number 15 out of Maryland, i think) so hopefully (HOPEFULLY) these guys progress and take over the spots behind Lee and Q. Right now im optimistic as hell for out offense, if we pass block better.

I have to agree, unless he steps up HUGE vs the Skins, Harper is on the outside looking in. I think Marcus Smith should be worried about his job too. I've already heard Harbs say LaQuan is playing special teams well (thats what he did most as a Terp as well) and he has shown the ability to catch in both of the first two preseason games, something Marcus and Justin have yet to put together in their 3 seasons...

Ya, this ain't happening. He'll have to wait til we play the Falcons. 3rd preseason game's usually when the 1's go til the start of the 4th quarter. I think the real shame is in Hardy. We didn't get to see anything from him and it looks like his time's run out already.

Not to mention that he didn't get out of bounds on the play right before the touchdown. Granted, he did get 3-4 extra yards, but you should always be looking for the sidelines in that type of situation.

With all the WRs we drafted, I think it's been obvious for a long time that Harper isn't going to make the squad. The obvious keepers are Boldin, Evans, Doss, and Torrey Smith. I would also keep David Reed for his kick return ability, if nothing else, and I'd also carry Williams as the sixth receiver. I think Williams has shown too much to let him go to some other team, but I don't know if the team will carry six receivers.

Harper hasn't shown enough to stay on the team, especially with the way special teams were devalued this off-season by rule changes.

I think Harper made a strong attempt, but it's probably too late at this point unfortunately. Hopefully he can find another team at this point.
