Tonight we witnessed a strong performance from both Parmele and Allen, which will make it difficult for coaches to decide who makes the roster. Parmele brings experience and versatility; his special team contributions might be the deciding factor when it's time to trim the roster. However, I believe Anthony Allen has the higher ceiling, against the Chiefs he showed good vision and burst as well as his trademark power. Allen would certainly be the better goal-line back. Since Allen is younger he would be eligible for practice squad (correct me if I'm wrong about this) while Parmele would not.

Damien Berry showed some skill against Philadelphia, but I would consider Berry and Lawrence long-shots to make the roster. Berry might be worth keeping around on the practice squad, but Lawrence's career with the Raven's might be over with the addition of Allen and Berry.

So, who makes the roster when the cuts come around?

Allen. He's a bruiser and compliments Ray and Ricky nicely. We aren't going to be able to sneak AA onto the PS.

Berry Isn't making the team. If we keep 4 it'll be Parmele.

I think both Parmele and Allen did pretty well tonight, and they could both compliment Ray nicely. It's kind of hard to decide, but I think Anthony Allen has the amazing combination of both speed and power. If it'll be four, go with Parmele.

Now, let's just all wait and see. Good game, tonight though. :)

I think we keep Ant as the 3rd RB and put Jalen on the PS if possible. Why wouldn't Jalen be eligible for the PS?

He was on the active roster for all 16 games last season, therefore he is ineligible.

Ok so can they attempt to put him on the PS but he has to go through waivers first or is it roster spot or no job?

He isn't allowed to be on the PS according to the rules.  We'd have to straight up cut him.  Allen and Berry can be placed on PS.  But seeing how all of a sudden we are deep at Rb, Any guy we try to sneak onto the PS will probably be picked up by another team.  Allen def isn't going to PS.  Berry they will probably try to sneak on.

I'm not sure we could manage 4 running-backs on the roster, we'll need to have plenty of depth at O-Line and Receiver. If we could keep both Parmele and Allen that would be ideal. There's no question in my mind that I would rather have Allen for the long term, but since we already have Ricky this season I think that Parmele might have more value for us this year. No way we're letting Allen go though, and if that means we have to part with Parmele he's gone. It would be a shame though because he's played well for us and we've spent a lot of time developing him.

I don't think that we'd risk to much by putting Berry on the PS, running back is a deep position in the NFL and he's barely seen any snaps at all. I like his potential and he'd be a good addition to the PS. (Speaking of which, I really hope LaQuan Williams makes the roster or PS without anyone stealing him... the man is a beast).

Ive been saying it this whole time, A. Allen is a beast. We didnt need Ricky Williams imo.
We needed a back to pick up the blitz on 3rd down because we have a rookie starting at RT. I guess they thought that was too much to ask of Ant and his strong suit isn't pass catching which Ricky is great at.

Not too long ago people were saying they thought Damien Berry reminded them of Adrian Peterson lol...

Anthony Allen's a beast. I'm glad he got touches. I've been excited to see what he can do. I'm surprised at how quick he is given how big and powerful of a runner he is.

I would like a source for this. Any idea who it was? That is just hilarious, AP is truely a one of a kind player.

I saw this comparison a few times on this board lol. You know how people get when they see clips of our guys on YouTube. Just because they dominated on a particular play and it was put by a fan on YouTube, it automatically makes their careers and we start comparing undrafted rookies to HOFers.

I'm a firm believer that at the RB position, you either have it or you don't coming out of college. Running backs contribute the most early on in the NFL and Parmele has had a lot of time to showcase his talents. He's failed to do so with the exception of a few good runs and a decent job of returning the ball. Time to give new guys a chance to show their skills. The only thing IMO that would have separated Parmele from the pack would have been his kick returning skills. I'm not so sure that's enough to keep him on the roster considering that we have so many potential kick returners.

Right on with this. I believe this as well. Allen's explosive, he's got the natural talent to contribute right away. Parmele's additional value would come on special teams, but the new kickoff rule mitigates that. Def Allen. Glad we got to see him on the goal line too, he's gonna be a beast down there.

I like Parmele, but I love Allen. They way he runs with speed and power. No matter who our run game is going to be dangerous with Rice and Leach. I think our teams gonna have a great run game and a great defense again, and good pass game...SUPERBOWL BABY!!!

There's no way Anthony Allen is going to get past waivers if he gets cut.

The Lions and 49ers need a bruiser who has that type of speed and agility.

Worst comes to worst, someone is going to be traded on draft day for a low round pick.

Ozzie might milk the Lions into giving him a 5th or even a 4th for AA or Parmele.

I think Parmele missed the boat, it's not a good sign when your last chance finally makes you hungry. Allen is younger and has more speed/power.

Sorry Parmele but the rookie outplayed you.

Allen is a beast. I like him better than Ricky to be honest. He just seems to fit the smash mouth football I love to see the Ravens play.

Those guys have to actually make the team to make it to draft day. And why would the Ravens trade one of them on draft day when Ricky has already said after his contract he's retiring.

With a guy like Anthony Allen, he'll make the team and improve during practice being he'll probably be the top scout team RB. Especially when we play power backs like Mendenhall, Hillis, Foster, and some others. Allen will simulate them in practice against the first team defense.

That is where he will get his shine and prove to the coaches that he can be the #2 RB next year, much like David Reed did.

I think Allen will get a few touches to help close out games, especially when we have a nice size lead. Even though Ricky is pretty much here for the power game, Ricky isn't a spring chicken. So if Allen could help him carry the load late in games, it'd be great.

Ok this is the part where I will probably lose a lot of people. However, I think Allen is better for "US" and what we wanna do then McGahee was. Especially over the last couple of years.

Too often McGahee looked to be a scat back and trying to bring long run that wasn't there. It made him look like he was tipping and not running hard.

With Allen, it's one cut, put your foot in the ground and hit it. I really like that. It's funny, because watching the game, even though it wasn't Allen, when Ricky hit the hole and blasted Ben Grubbs, the first thing I said, was find somebody to block and get out of the way Ben, that's not McGahee running.

I just think that even though we had the potential and personnel for it, our power game struggled last year because our power backs wanted to do what Ray Rice does. With Ricky, Allen and Leach, our power game will be back and better then ever imo.

This is Parmele's 4th season, and he has 7 carries in his first 3 years. He had some value as a kick-returner, but with Reid's emergence and the kickoff becoming irrelevant... I think Parmele's ship has sailed.

In garbage time last night, Allen rushed for 34 yards in 5 carries. Parmele got 18 yards on 6 carries.

The final verdict hasn't been established, but Allen leads the race.

Parmele looks a lot bigger this year and he seemed to be running with a little more power, but i like anthony allen more bc even though it was against players that prolly won't even make the cheifs roster, he showed good power and speed and found the open holes. This is basically his first time playing in a pro style offense so he's shown a lot of potential already
