Oher false starts man get over it. He should just move when everyone else does and stop trying anticapate the snap. He causes more damage then good when he does that.

No. Olinemen do not "anticipate the snap"; thats Dlinemen. If he moved when everyone else moved, well he'd be behind, due to the very simple fact of whats called "reaction time" Also, if you've played any offensive line in your life, or organized football period, you would probably realize it makes ZERO sense to go when everyone else goes. No offensive lineman is taught to "go when he goes" I mean, on silent cadences they go on ball movement, but thats a slightly different concept. You move when the ball is snapped, period. Simple. As. That. Are false starts an issue? Yeah, definitely, but the way you propose solving said issue is redonculous. Watch him play, he moves right with the ball. Not before it, right with it.

Also, before you ask, I do play Varsity High School Football, I'm an offensive guard. I know a thing or two about OL play. ;)

What im saying is he needs to stop trying to be the first one backpedaling bcuz even if he dosent false starts it looks like it to the ref. If the refs calls false start there's no challenging it point blank. It dosent matter if hes faster off the ball then everyone else if hes going to get flagged for it.

First, he's not backpedaling, thats what DB's do. He's in pass protection, and it's called a kick-slide. He shouldn't really change his game, if he's not really doing something wrong, but he should slow it down a little to avoid the penalties. Unfortunately, what is actually a talent is being used against him.

While I don't believe it's a False Start, Bmore has a point.

There is no need of arguing the call, if the refs see a false start then that's what will be called.

Now Oher has a rep of getting false start penalties, so he won't be given the benefit of the doubt.

JO was a guy that got out of his stance really quickly but was very rarely called for a false start. If Oher was already an All Pro it probably wouldn't be called.

However it is being called, so Oher has to adapt to that or continue to hurt the offense.

The thing that makes me mad is that Oher does it often, but it's not called every snap. It's like they only call it once or twice and it's always on 3rd downs.

I guess it's just another case of an young guy needing to earn his name in the NFL, because he gets the benefit of the doubt.

I'm still not impressed with Oher, as he still makes really dumb decisions out there, as evidenced when he blocked down and let a blitzer run free at Joe unimpeded a la the Polamalu play. He needs to step up big-time this week and prove that he can be a reliable LT.

Yea, I was recently telling a co worker, that we've been spoiled by the stellar play of JO and Gaither over the years and that's why we as fans are so hard on Oher.

But you are right. He differently needs to step up. Showing flashes just won't cut it anymore. It's time for him to be consistently good. As an LT you can't have mental lapses, and breakdowns because you'll get your franchise QB killed.

I think the Ravens should run that same blitz 1,000 times in practice and then make Oher watch it 1,000 more times on film. Because a sack fumble is the less of our concerns on the free blitz. If we lose Flacco, Oher will be public enemy #1.

I remember in his rookie year he had that 'fire'. Then I remember watching him in training camp last year where he just seemed disinterested almost. Saw him a couple of times in TC and I was like 'what's up with Oher?"

I know this probably isn't the case. But those type of impressions last on me.
