Eagles/Steelers

How can anyone not say the Steelers look excellent? How come we weren't this sharp last week against the same team (and their OL is just as bad as ours)? Both that offense and defense look like they're in mid-season form.

They look good but its PS.

The Lions looked awesome when they went 4-0 in preseason a few years back. Then they went 0-16. These teams haven't adequately game planned for each other like they do in the Regular Season. Once again its about evaluating individuals. Teams are experimenting with things. Like us w/ Cousins at RT and Mattison at C. Because they want to see the individuals. They are trying some plays they normally wouldn't to see if they belong in the playbook. It's hard to just 'assess' a team overall.

This same Steelers team looked like the worse team in the NFL last week.

Only thing I'll say is that if what is happening to the Eagles tonight holds up into the regular season, they will struggle against GREAT defenses. Luckily for them, they don't play that many elite defenses, as long as the Giants defense doesn't go on a QB killing spree that they had last year, and the Eagles can survive Chicago the Eagles will be alright.

The DRA, DRA, DRA, DREAM TEAM is, N, da, house.................... lol. But in all seriousness, this is just the "experimental" portion of the season. I wouldn't count the Eagles out just yet.

Were people here watching the game, or just updating their posts? Here's what happened, everything went wrong for the Eagles while everything went right for the Steelers. Plain and simple. Has anyone here ever heard of a bad night? Mind you, Vick just opened up his mouth today and probably got a call from the commissioner threatening his career.

If you want to breakdown the game- the defense of the Eagles sucked because of them setting Dominique Rodgers as a pass rusher(which he's not) and for using the really poor mans Clay Matthews(who sucks imo). Basically, the defense was exposed and it probably crossed The Ravens mind when he was playing the Eagles on their field. Two of the Vick interceptions were him showing that he thinks he's superhuman while one of them got tipped. The blitzes that the Steelers ran worked. Oh and I forgot, it's preseason. I do think everyone should look at this is an indication of how teams who get everyone involved can easily exploit the Eagles. If you want to beat the Eagles, get literally everyone involved. That's my advice to the teams who are ready to take them on.

Steelers 1's looked scary good... Big Ben is something else when "the play breaks down" and as he buys more time... I hope we can look half as good tomorrow.

hah yeah

anyway, the Steelers do look a lot sharper this game, last weak they got beat down by the Redskins, the Eagles have done the opposite, they looked good against us and now they are really lookin like they've had no training camp practices

They looked good against us but our 1's only played 2 series. I'm sorry, as much as I hate the Steelers, I absolutely LOVED watching the "Dream Team" reduced to scrap.

What people are failing to realize is this simple fact: while Big Ben and the rest of the Squealers are working with the same pieces they've been working with for a long while now, the Eagles have just pieced together their team and are still learning each other's tendencies. Same thing with us. Not only does Cam have to get to know how to use the recievers we got during the offseason (was there even an offseason LOL??), Flacco has to get used to the recievers and how they run their routes as well. And if thats not enough for you, then Rice has to learn what Leach can and cannot do.

Basically all I'm saying is this; give it some time people. No reason to go crazy just because we couldn't beat the Eagles when the Steelers creamed them. It is the Preseason.

Missed the games last night (spent a lovely 5 hrs at the ER), I, like others here hope the so called "dream team" fall to peices and I think the 1st part of the season they could easily drop a couple games they shouldn't but I'm not ready to count them out of the playoffs after 2 preseason games. It would be nice if the Ravens picked up the best tackle available before the Steelers could.
Shame we don't have a lot of extra cap room, we could snag 2-3 of the best Tackles just to screw over the steelers LOL

Benji was his typical self, as much as I hate the guy. I don't know a single QB in the league who does a better job of making up for a porous O-line. Joe should pay attention to that, which I'm sure he does. Was that Asante Samuel who blew that TD to Antonio Brown? Man, if that was Chris Carr or Foxworth these boards would have called for his head.

Just saw this on Rotoworld, after LT Jonathon Scott went down on the first play, Rookie Marcus Gilbert came in at LT and he went down with a knee injury of his own on the next play of the game. Even Thinner at Tackle now. Suggs has to be foaming at the mouth even more.

Even if Scott comes back healthy, Suggs absolutely tore him up last year when he was playing. Suddenly our o-line doesn't seem quite so bad.

Its preseason....can't really tell what Philly will do this season but I expect the stillers to be competitive.

But Vick laying the wood to Polamalu after the interception was fun to watch...
