Eagles/Steelers

45 posts in this topic

Eagles are getting worked and their deficiencies (weak LB's and soft safeties) are their handicap!!

I hate that its the Steelers doing it, but love that the "Dream Team" is tanking with their firsts!!

Plus the Steelers lost LT Jonathon Scott to a knee injury on the FIRST play from scrimmage. Scott was suppose to replace Max Starks.

It's a beautiful thing. If anyone other than the Ravens were to do it, I'd want it to be the Steelers. I'm glad they're our rival. I think the rivalry makes both teams better. Can't wait for 9/11.

Just saw this on Rotoworld, after LT Jonathon Scott went down on the first play, Rookie Marcus Gilbert came in at LT and he went down with a knee injury of his own on the next play of the game. Even Thinner at Tackle now. Suggs has to be foaming at the mouth even more.

Oh, I guess Vick isn't all that when he's playing against the Steelers. I have a feeling a lot of other QBs wouldn't fare so well if they were in the AFC North (Tom Brady would do fine though).

Yeah the Steelers have issues at OL as well and..the Eagles just look bad, what is Vick seeing back there? He's not reading field well

Ravens vs Steelers is gonna be good, their defense looks good but you can thank the Eagles for that too

No, Vick is awesome and incredible. Flacco is the only QB who can't seem to play well against the Steelers, must be something wrong with him.

hah yeah

anyway, the Steelers do look a lot sharper this game, last weak they got beat down by the Redskins, the Eagles have done the opposite, they looked good against us and now they are really lookin like they've had no training camp practices

And ours gives Flacco so much time? My point was that people compare Flacco's first 3 seasons playing the Steelers 8 times to other QBs who don't have to play the Steelers, ever (or rarely). Only Brady has shown the ability to beat them consistently. Brees and Rodgers beat them last season once. Who else could handle the Steelers?

EDIT: Oh yeah, the Jets managed to eek one out in the regular season (Steelers without Polamalu) with a trick play bootleg from Sanchez. And then they lost in the playoffs.

Oh ok. Vick is really good, it's just that some people act like Flacco is the only one who has trouble with the Steelers.

We can say it's pre-season all we want, but when the Eagles first string team is struggling this bad.... something is wrong.

The Eagles have been exposed... "Dream Team" has turned into "Cream Team."

But coaches in pre season do not gameplan for the opponent like they do in the regular season. Base vanilla packages to see what individuals do.

PS outcome has nothing to do with how good or how bad any section of the team will do in the Regular Season no matter how bad they look. They aren't playing the games to.

Steelers look fantastic. I'm not sure the Ravens are ready, we have so many holes.

So do they. We are ready.

steelers do not look fantastic... ur just seeing a veteran team against a "puzzle piece put together team" that is still finding itself
we will be fine

From rotoworld:

Steelers LT Jonathan Scott was sent to the locker room on a cart after taking a helmet to his left knee in Thursday's game against the Eagles.
Scott was replaced on the first drive by second-rounder Marcus Gilbert, who went down with a knee injury of his own on the next series. Guard Tony Hillis had to kick back outside to left tackle in the second quarter. The Steelers may be forced to put in a call to Flozell Adams on Friday.

Hell we should put in a call to Flozell just so that they can't have him.

Dream Team? Damn did I just see their first team get stomped to hell by the Steelers? I think I did. Wonder what we did wrong against them?

I always hate to see the young long-shots struggle late in PS games. That fumble was sad. You know these guys are fighting for their livelihood. To be in the NFL or not.

Looks like the hierarchy of NFL teams goes Redskins > Steelers > Eagles > Ravens. That is, unless these games are all meaningless.
