Maybe I'm not re-reading the quotes enough, but it sounds like Cam Cameron is talking in circles.
Cameron allowed his rookie quarterback to audible more than half of the time because audibles are overrated. What's circular about that?

"It depends on how teams are playing you. Or the way teams are playing us, we're better off calling a play, making sure everybody knows what that play is and executing that play. "
Yeah, including the OPPOSING SIDE. When will Harbaugh realize that Cam is the one concern we should be taking care of on the offense. Even all us Flacco bashers know that Cam needs to go.. Neverthless if Flacco does good or not.

I think his attitude for this bit is wrong: We could, if we chose to, audible with him every down. But if it doesn't fit who you're playing, why do it?

The whole point of audibles are so that you can change plays to match your specific situation, I was never under the impression that it mattered who you were playing against.

The only thing I can say about Cam's situation is that he's now got the head coach helping him to do his job and if he screws it up again then he's surely gone.

Will we ever be rid of this character?
If we don't go deep into the playoffs or have a more prolific off season. His [profanity deleted] is grass.

Regardless, this is his last year. We couldn't get rid of him cuz of the CBA.

So you don't think that a good offensive season would get Cam an extension?

Personally, with the team's current offensive line, I can't imagine the offense being anything to write home about, but if it somehow managed to feast on the the easy schedule, you never know...

We also had more creative play calling that year, along with a great run game that averaged over the dismal number of last season. Let's see what happens now that we have a good backfield in place and Cams behind on the line

Didnt Cam Cameron go 1-15 with the Dolphins? Why would we hire that? Billick would be nice to have back or better yet JOHN GRUDEN!?!?!?! im probably just getting my hopes up, but he ran an effective offense iin Tampa with terrible QBs. And his offenses are always good running teams. PLUS. Hes not afraid to get in a players face if he messes up. But it probably wont happen

Oh this article is from October of last year. Hopefully the front office has changed his mind on the whole "Audibles are Overrated" thing for this season.

I think he meant to say:

"We've audibled a lot in Joe's rookie year, but had a bit of delay of game penalties and confusion on offense. In my opinion, Joe wasn't totally comfortable reading defensive alignments and making decisions on the fly, so I decided to scrap the audibles to make the offense more efficient. Calling audibles was too much of a burden for a young QB.

You will see us audible more versus division foes because they tend to know our plays more so than other opponents. I would uses audibles sparingly because I rather be sure that every player knows the play so I can better evaluate our offense."

But it came out stupid.

On another note, I think Harbaugh was over his head as head coach the first couple of seasons, so he gave a ton of control to the OC and DC. Although I think Cameron is a brilliant strategist, his play calling sometimes is quirky. I don't think he needs to be fired, I think Harbaugh just need to take more responsibility for the offense.
