NFL Sunday Ticket Coming To PS3

23 posts in this topic

According to IGN and various sources, the NFL Sunday Ticket is now coming to PS3! (LINK)

The downloadable app allows current subscribers to watch via PS3 for $50 (which is handy if your satellite reception goes out or you wish to watch on an HDTV in a different location than at home); or non-subscribers can pay $339.95. Local blackout restrictions still apply.

Even though I'll be mega-broke, I'm SOLD!

If you're an out-of-market fan that needs to go to a bar every week to catch a Ravens game, that amounts to less than $22 for 16 games. That's far less than my usual bar tab and far less than I'd have to pay to sit at Buffalo Wild Wings to catch a game with no sound if the local Eagles game is on. That's, however, also in addition to EVERY other game available, so I can watch all the football I want and not be restricted by local affiliates, save for when the Ravens happen to be picked up by our local CBS or FOX networks OR on a nationally-televised broadcast.

This is amazing news. I already get the Sunday Ticket for free, so coughing up 50 bucks isn't a problem at all.

For the $50.00 deal yes. There is another fee for non-subscribers though.

Ugh. I know I am going to get it. They already charge me for mobile. Why can't this all be part of the same package.

I could buy a small country with the money I spend on my yearly Directv Sunday Ticket bill.

I have Comcast and an Xbox 360. What does that mean for my bad luck?

I'm going to buy an account for my laptop and hook it up to my TV. I have to hook it up to my TV(which is a computer monitor.)Wish me luck for it all to work out!

As an FYI, the PS3-exclusivity probably expires after this season. DirecTV is only putting it on PS3 for this season just to see the response. If people show that they want it and are willing to pay for it (even if it's not that steep of a price), they'll likely add it to Xbox 360 starting next season.

As for that Game Rewind subscription, bear in mind that they are only replays of games after they've aired, and that you cannot watch any of the content when another live NFL game is in progress due to blackout rules. Otherwise, games are usually available to watch immediately following the conclusion of Sunday Night Football, and SNF itself (from what I've read) is usually available by noon EST the next day.

340$??? does that mean u get it for life? why would u pay that for 1 season
That's how much the Sunday Ticket normally costs on its own if you're a DirecTV subscriber. The difference is, watching it via PS3 doesn't require a DirecTV subscription on top of that.

The price was probably the main thing DirecTV wouldn't budge on in providing access to the service for PS3 users.

Enough people so that they don't need to decrease the price. Hell I'm suckered into the "on the go" Sunday Ticket portion, which is an additional 50 a year. Just so for the rare moments I am not near a tv and I must know whats going on.

Thanks! What I will just resort to doings is <something we can't talk about here>. Not a big deal! It sucks too because I bought the cords for my laptop to hook up into my computer screen. I don't understand how the NFL can expect people to switch to a satellite dish off of some deal for only one TV deal. Not very smart people working for the marketing part there!

And no, you can't share your method for watching games minus the price tag...lol. Sorry.

Yes, Sunday Ticket is free for DirecTV subscribers this year, but no guarantee the offer remains.

Also, there's plenty of scenarios where people want the Sunday Ticket but are unable or unwilling to subscribe to DirecTV's service itself. For example, people living in an apartment complex that may not allow the installation of satellites, or people who get spotty satellite reception where they live, or people who are perfectly content with their TV service but would rather not switch providers just to get football for four months.

I think it's those people that DirecTV's attempting to target with this alternative, rather than people who already have DirecTV and the Sunday Ticket package or people who were never interested to begin with.

this implies that directv is the only carrier that offers sunday ticket? is that right?, every carrier in canada offers it, haha, thats funny given nfl is obviously "americas game"

on another note, i ordered sunday ticket for the first time last year, after i got sick of finding the games online every sunday, worth the 200 bones over 4 months for sure, nothin better than settling into the man cave away from the wife and son and in front of the old 62 incher, man im pumped for the season!!
