In case of emergency or whatever, I am wondering how this can be done. I know there are many websites out there that offer the option to watch games live online, but A are they trustworthy? and B are they free? What sites/options are best?

There are only two legal options to watch NFL games online, and both are subscription-based services.

Option 1) NFL.com has three tiers of service -- [url="http://www.nfl.com/preseasonlive"]Preseason Live[/url] (LIVE preseason games for North American audiences only); [url="http://www.nfl.com/gamepass"]NFL Game Pass[/url] (LIVE preseason and regular season games for viewers OUTSIDE of the United States ONLY); [url="http://www.nfl.com/gamerewind"]NFL Game Rewind[/url] (archived full replays of NFL games after they've aired). A fourth service is offered that is audio-only, called [url="http://www.nfl.com/audiopass"]NFL Audio Pass[/url].

Option 2) DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket subscribers get free viewing on the Internet or mobile devices along with their subscription.

Furthermore, all Ravens games have a free audio simulcast of WBAL's radio broadcast of all Ravens games, available on [url="http://www.baltimoreravens.com/"]BaltimoreRavens.com[/url] on the Gameday Live page (updated every Gameday).

You cannot ask for any other method of viewing games online as they are illegal, and there are no free video streams that are legal.
