You know what makes me really curious. How did Philly pull of these trades with 5-6 marquee players like Nmadi, etc... and still have Mike Vick on a franchise tag of 16.5M? If theywere able to do it I am sure the Ravens can find creative ways to create space too... so I am not too concerned about it. I think if we find somebody that is important for us, we will figure out a way to sign him!

Simple...there is an article floating around that they prepared for this for a while. They were under the cap, before any of their signings and with Vicks massive cap number of about $16M, by about $30M! Craziness!!

There are other options to free up CAP space if need be. I'm not even sure if the Ngata deal gets done this offseason.

Yeah, it's not looking good for a Ngata deal getting done... we should have been prepared for this considering he held out his Rookie year.

I would like to sign O'hara but I really don't think we do any more business until Ngata's signed. O'hara would be an ideal addition to the line.

Resign Ngata to a long term contract and restructure Foxworth's contract ot flat out cut him. Then we'll have cap room for the positions we really need.

resigning Ngata is all thats needed, cutting CB depth is no good

Does anyone think there will be a better C/G available?
August 30th when teams need to get down to 75 players. There might be some surprise names out there.

Let's just hope the Ngata deal is done by August 30th so the Oz can work his majic. I'm still predicting for Ozzie to bring in 2 veteran O-line players

That would be so awesome. We could sign an o linemen and a backup quarterback.

and a back up qb... (trade for David Gerrard if Blaine Gabbert wins down in JAX?)
I certainly wouldn't want them to use a draft pick on a backup QB!

Yeah for real. The thing is we should of jumped on Bruce Gradkowski while we had the chance. Youngish yet a lot of starting experience. Plus, he and Flacco can talk about their bushy brows together....

maybe not a draft pick.. maybe we could send a few shabby o-linemen
Nah, salary is far too high. He gets paid like a starter (7-8mil I believe) so that would not be cap friendly for us. I think if we are going to add a QB we'll look to a cheap veteran free agent and look to address the O-line with 1 or 2 additions. Can't wait to see what Oz does with the O-Line!

I've started wondering the same thing recently, however in the conference call Bisciotti (who was extremely candid) made it sound like the problem was money. Sure the money for the franchise tag is good for one year, but he'd be getting twice that much in guaranteed money if he signed a LTD now. He skips on a LTD and then gets injured this year (God please no), he's going to wish he took the deal when he could.
