Week 12 - Baltimore Ravens Vs. San Francisco 49Ers

1,543 posts in this topic

I had to eat Thanksgiving dinner during the game, so while I saw the game, I missed the comments on the forums. What calls exactly are the 49ers complaining about?

The chop block looked like a legit call. There was a play that Pitta got blown up on that probably should've been PI (on a 3rd down I think). I think Boldin got held on another 3rd down.

I didn't see the Ravens not get penalized for something that they did... then again, I couldn't always see everything going on since faces were blocking my view of the TV.

I remember reading somewhere here, that we got the wrong harbaugh... take that..we have the hotter, cooler, and smarter one.

Wow. I'm loving the post-game coverage on the NFL channel.
exactly what i was coming back on to write... loved sizzle's and harbaugh's interviews

loved the crowd during sizzle's interview

the more and more i hear John the more i like him. Great guy always top notch and classy. they went to commercial but im pretty sure he was going to run over to the crowd and give them the pudding pies ha

Can you blame the?...ten point swing on huge blown calls.
Name the Blown calls. The Fans are complaining from the Refs to the Oline to the Wrs and to A.Smith (who i think is a pretty dam good qb , the way he played)
Jim Harbaugh just admitted that the chop block was a good call... end of that discussion.
He has a tendency to rarely argue with the questionable calls in the game, I've noticed in his other post game conferences

Yeah they're ticked about the chop block and the PI on #25 though he clearly held Torreys left arm on a deep route. He played it ok but it was clearly PI

About the people wondering why we ran the ball: Given the game situation, it was the perfect call. Well within field goal range, keeping the kick in the middle of the field, and forcing the 49ers to take a time out or run another 35 seconds off the clock. Kick the FG and let the defense do its thing. Aside from the QB draw with Flacco (lol @ Joe trying to run), I thought the offensive playcalling was spot-on.

Also, the ref calls were bad at times, but they did not help one team more than the other. The Ravens had just as many bad calls at bad times as the 49ers did. The difference is that the Ravens overcame them.

Anyway, it was a great game by both teams, but it was nice to see the Ravens step up after all the experts kept saying how the 49ers were gonna control the trenches.

Yeah, I know about that one. I even commented on it to my gf (she's a 9ers fan... sorta). It was pretty clear and possibly even unnecessary since the pass wasn't the greatest. She did complain about our field being slippery though. I think it was because Gore kept falling. :)

Actually, I think Joe could've gotten in if he'd gone left instead of right. Well, maybe not... but it would've been closer than going right and then trying to split the defenders.

Yeah it looked like he had a lane to the left, but I don't think Joe would've been fast enough to make it in.

Okay they wanna say those calls were bad? How bout the no-call on the Offensive PI when Webb intercepted it? The guy was all over Webb. And they missed holding calls, but that's to be expected. But come on. The guy was all over Torrey Smith. And the chop block, was iffy, but that's the rule. And I just want to say I LOVED Mayock's commentary. That guy is so so so so smart. not to mention he actually gives the Ravens credit. He seemed to be loving Leach. Every play Leach took an LB out of it, Mayock would go back and show it. Get rid of Diedorf and give me Mayock. And the Defense was just flatout on a mission. I don't know if any of you caught the sideline clip of Ray talking to Sizzle, but Ray said "Don't stop huntin'! Don't stop huntin'! Until you have him up on your wall!!!" My eyes got wide and I said "Wow. It is on!" He just compared a QB to a big game trophy! And by the way, Joe needs to keep that Fu Manchu. Pitta had one too. Look like a couple of cowboys from the wild west lol.

Props to Lee Evans too. His effort on that 3rd down catch was huge and propelled us to victory.
You are so right. I completely forgot to mention that. That was huge. He dragged the defensive backs for the first down. Way to go Lee.

How about the bad call on Webb's punt return that cost us like 40 yards? And unlike the calls against San Fran, that one was actually a bad call.

How about the facemask on Joe first quarter right in front of the ref? If you want to get nit picky I think the refs let them play for the most part

Yeah, my biggest issue was with the spotting of the ball and the "illegal block in the back" penalty, which was absolutely atrocious.

Seriously, I don't want to embarrass her or him. It's hilarious though. Pm me and remind me and I'll write you once I get home tomorrow.

Omg yes. That "block in the back" was a joke call. Oh well. Every game we win counts as two wins because in Baltimore, we always have to beat the refs and the other team. I hope SF whoops up on Pitt.

Did our defense dominate that soundly during either of the Pittsburgh games???? I'm still in a deep and very happy state of shock. And people freaked out that Ray Lewis wasn't playing???

I'll be doing a happy dance all day...and I'll go to the gym decked in Ravens gear from head to toe, as per my usual after wins.

And the post-game interview with Sizz was a hoot. That man is an absolute trip. I wonder if Terrence, Cory, and Haloti did get any pie? :)

Now let's rest up and get ready to go to Cleveland. Now you've got us all totally terrified of another hangover/letdown. DO NOT let that happen this time!!!
