I knew Mangold would be out. I thought it was a ploy. There was no way he was going to play on a high Ankle sprain.

@Army i partially agree with ur statement.. At least its logical...
But i think people underestimate the importance of special teams..
And i really dont believe there were toomany other people besides jimmy that coulda played that st spot
[/quote]

Oh I dont underestimate ST at all, especially considering we have some of the best in the league. The reason I said it was dumb for Jimmy other that the reason I have already said is his size.

I am not sure how it works in the pros only because I have never been there (damn it) but I know in college and the All-Army team, our coach hated putting corners over 6'0" tall in because they have long limbs and in the one phase of football that is truly just chaos it is too easy to get one of those long limbs over extended or caught in the pack and are not as durable as a more compact frame because of the weight distribution and the length of bones and tendons. In short it is easier for tall lanky guys like Jimmy to get hurt on ST as opposed to webb because of his compact frame.

It was related too trying to break a 2 foot long stick to a 6 inch stick of equal girth, now obviously those are not the size of their arms but it is the same principle.

Alright boys first game back in the states, lets take it to their behinds. First play from scrimmage test Cro. Then run RR right at Bart.

Notice that the NBC announcers are always talking about the jets non stop - rex ryan and jets are taking on baltimore. makes me sick, cant wait to see the final score of 38 - 3

If the Jets are smart they just throw the ball all game...we are so beat up in the secondary...why couldnt the BYE week be this week and we get the Jets next week ? haha

Jimmy Smith cant get back soon enough..and Carr...get your hammy right. Haruki is out..

Its going to be tough, our front seven will have to be on Mark all game long and force him into mistakes

anything can happen but I think the Jets are getting us at a great time for them

Just heard that stats on the collisions of Leach on Bart Scott will use the Richter Scale.

With Ngata and Sanchez , they'll be using the Pancake Scale.

Jets have been airing it out more regardless. Hell, I wish their running game was good, because we'd stop it. But the passing, I can't be sure they'll stop the pass.

People we're talking about Sanchez not Rogers - yes our Cb are not great right now but we will be the dominate ones tonight. Believe it!!! I DO!!

These young CBs need to step up big time. I'm a bit nervous, but I think our pass-rush will make up for it.

side note: listening to ESPN 1050 NY is pretty funny. No wonder Jets fans are delusional when their media is the captain of the hype train.

Very true, I dont mind the call in just about any other situation, but with what our CB's looked like at the outset of the season I hate the call and hated it then. now if Foxy was healthy and we had Josh Wilson, or anybody else then we could afford it, but I think in that situation it was a bit ill advised.

We had Frank Walker , fabian Washington, Corey Ivy..... that was a team that went into the playoffs.

Sanchez actually did well, but there were some key turnovers that allowed the Raiders to win (like the muffed punt return by Cromartie).

Knowing what we know now, it wasn't worth the risk... but if he never got hurt and forced 2 fumbles on coverage we'd be happy. It was unfortunate.
