Did Anyone Notice The Browns ?

49 posts in this topic

I had always counted us as at worst the #2 team in our division but if last nights game against the packers was an indication then we are maybe looking at third place in our division. The browns offense is young, very fast and have came together. In such a short period of time these guys have their timing down, routes handled and are full of confidence. If that is the true offense that will show up this year then a half hearted browns defense could give us a real fight for a top spot in a division.

Did anyone else catch the game and what did you think of the show ?

I was just very impressed as i thought for sure that they were just the "Browns" and the packers would have rolled right over them. Rodgers had a quick 1st series and then the browns started throwing the skin around and they just looked smooth and ready. Rodgers did go down the field on the 2nd series but the browns answered back. They were in this game and i started to think that maybe we should start looking at them as more then "Just the browns".

I didn't Watch it yet I'm sure I'll catch it on NFL network. But even with an improved offense they aren't going to better than us.

Unless u meant they could have 2nd best offense in division then anything is possible. But winning more games nope.

They are moving in the right direction as a franchise. But I wouldn't put to much stock into this one PS game. They have a ton of fragile pieces at skilled positions. Can Rodgers play with intensity all season long? They still have plenty of kinks to work through.

But we should never take any team lightly, especially divisional ones. They know us the best.

It gave me nightmares too! But I woke up and realized it was only a preseason game and didn't mean a thing. I then gave a half-hearted laugh and fell back asleep.

I agree. Outside of the solid addition of Greg Little, the Browns have also compiled a slew of new weapons this offseason. This isn't basically the same personnel that averaged 13.5 points per game against us in 2010. Derp. Cleveland also put up 27 points a victory against Green Bay in their first preseason game of last year. I wonder where they both ended up...

You know who else kicked butt in their first pre-season game--the Lions and Redskins-- it is what it is.

Is this guy a Ravens fan or what?

I would think so, he just has a different opinion.

Yeah, its the Browns and its preseason. They are getting better and have brought in some good young talent. But if you think they are better than the Ravens as it stands today; you maybe clinically insane.

Solid addition of Greg Little hahahahah

The rest of my comment was sarcastic, but Greg Little was actually a good addition.

No acquisition they make ends up being solid. Well except for Hillis, but they didn't know what they were getting g out of him. Just freak luck that he was a monster

Calling the acquisition solid doesn't necessarily imply that the player will be successful. He could be easily misused or even neglected in the future. Personally, I considered Greg Little a solid talent coming out of the Draft. Thereby, the acquisition of Little would be a solid one in my opinion, regardless of the team he's on.

The Browns have a strong offensive line, that does a long way to having a decent offense..but they are still a young team and arent deep with talent.

The Browns will probably be better than the Bengals...maybe

The Browns looked good. But saying we are the 3rd best team in the division? I don't buy it. Maybe if the Steelers have a SB hangover we move to #1 and Cleveland could fight for #2/#3.

The packers pulled their starters after 1-2 series while the browns played them longer. I think you are putting too much stock into a preseason game. Saying the ravens are the third best team in the afc north after going to the playoffs 3 straight years and making upgrades that suit our game is complete idiocy.

I can see the Browns beating out the Bengals, they are in the process of building up while the Bengals are falling apart (yet again)

-19, talk about getting right back on the horse. :standcorner: They have upgraded, albeit it's still way to early to tell anything definate. I'm more concerned with our OL than the Browns, or anyone else for that matter.

The Browns looked pretty good but we have to remember it was a preseason game and the 1st one at that. I am not worried about them at this point.

Is anyone really taking the Browns seriously? With the Bengals, they've been the laughingstock of the league for years, and one good preseason game doesn't mean they're going to be a contender, not with Colt McCoy, not this year, and not in this division. Their supposedly brilliant performance came in the first pre-season game, which means absolutely nothing. Didn't the Lions win all their pre-season games the year they went 0-16?

Yeah, and the Colts go 0-4 every year (just about).

I personally never take the Browns lightly. That said, I think the Browns are moving in the right direction but still have work to do.
