Nickname For Flacco

142 posts in this topic

I was scouring ESPN reading the game previews and I stumbled upon this little tidbit. I think it's pretty funny and would make an interesting topic.

From Bill Simmons - ESPN
[i]You know, I enjoyed Joe Flacco's work last week -- his teammates responded to him and so did the fans. But he needs a nickname. Joe Flacco makes him sound too much like a chef. Couldn't you see him starring in "Cooking with Joe Flacco" or "Joe Flacco's Barbecue Extravaganza" on the Food Network? So that got me thinking

Hahaha, I was JUST about to post this! I think it's a stupid nickname, but hey, at least they are talking about us!

After seeing him rush for that TD, how about Joltin' Joe Flacco!

So far Bazooka Joe is best... I'm not 100% sold but it is better than anything else.

Perhaps after a few 40+yd TD passes than he can be Bazooka Joe

Right now I'm happy with completions and a clean #5 Jersey.

It is good, but it's not exactly unique to Joe... I think he deserves his own nickname, not someone else's.

he doesnt have to have 40+ yds for TDs to be called bazooka joe. How about his fast passes that get to the reciever quick? The ball was thrown pretty fast. Faster then some other QBs weve seen.

The best one I heard so far was BIG BIRD!

The guys on the Sirius Afternoon Blitz said he looked like Big Bird when he was running for that touchdown.

I like that one.

The chef thought is still in my head. I think it would be awesome if Joe had his own cooking show on Food Network. He seems like the type. I'd watch it every day.

Joe Flacco "The Chef"
Dices tomatoes during the week. Slices defenses on the weekend!

Bazooka Joe I think is the best sounding and could be the most fitting in the future.

Anyone notice this about Billick in Simmons' article?

I like bazooka Joe.

I also think we should all yell " Flaccooooooooooooooooooooooo " ( like Heaaaaaaaap ) when he throws a TD or runs another one in.

That's pretty funny stuff. This is a hard one. I think he needs more time before we give him a nickname. Let his legacy play out a little bit, it will come to us on it's own.
he looks kinda like Bert from sesame street

how about big bert
He does look like Bert from Sesame street. It's kinda bad that we have had two references on here of Joe looking like someone from Sesame Street. Big Bird & Bert. I wonder if Flacco ever browses the forum to see what we "home fans" think of him.

If you are reading this Joe. I'm just joking about the Sesame Stuff.
