Need A Second Opinion On A Draft

6 posts in this topic

So here's the deal; I have a plan set in pencil for how to draft in this particular draft, but I'd like a second (and third, and so on.. LOL) opinion on this. I am in a 10 team PPR, IDP league (2 pts per catch), and have the 8th pick. The pick is horrible, I know. But what would be a wise strategy to employ in this draft on Sunday night??

Thanks!!

Ps: Here are the roster spots-
Qb)
Rb)
Rb2)
Wr)
Wr2)
Wr3)
WR/TE/RB flex)
Te)
K)
DEF)
DL)
D)
LB)
DB)
S)

And 9 bench spots... yes 9, because the lockout will produce injuries due to players not being in shape and all. Plus, free agency is still ongoing in a way.

A 2 point ppr league coupled with having to start 3 WRs with a RB/WR makes it a WR league. In the first round I would aim for guys like Rice/McCoy (as running backs are top heavy and these guys are ppr studs). If those guys fall through look for a guy like Andre Johnson or even Roddy White.

How many points are QBs TDs compared to everyone else?

Since this a WR league I could even argue going for Andre @ 8 and Roddy @ 12. Then just loading up on RBs.

But I would definitely target a top WR in the first two rounds.

Everyone gets 6 TD's, while QB's get only 4.

Then you want to wait on a QB. Don't go with Rodgers @ 8. Because the overall value is diminished. You'll should get a WR in the first 2 rounds.

I'd also target a good TE. Witten in a ppr league could be a great value after the big names go off the board.

2 point ppr, never heard of a league with that much value on a catch.

Of course this is all just my opinion. And the strategy I would employ.

Sound similar to the one I had written in pencil, so now its going to the chalkboard as we speak... LOL.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?? And is 9 bench spots too many? I think its great IMO
