[Blogs] Ravens Trade For WR Evans

539 posts in this topic

Cary Williams looks good and may get more changes with the other guys if he can show consistant play, Carr may have to watch his back and his position on the depth chart. lee evans is a fast guy that can get behind a Defense and make them take some of the guys off the line and put them in the backfield. Add that to Pitta and Dixon, TE that can stretch the field also and Smith and Hardy, Once we gel on O and D as well with Kruger and Kindle and McPhee, its game over for the rest of the league, Pats and Eagles included.

Some of yall are never satisfied...one step at a time. Evans fills a huge void! Now Ozzie will look to shore up other parts of the team. CB is good, we have the talent. Chill out on that. RT...let's go. Pass rush...let's go. No team is perfect in every area but we sure got a helluva lot better at WR.

We do need to fix the O-line and get depth there, other than that the pass rush looked good last night, the secondary will get tightened down and the young TE Pitta looked good, Joe Flacco has a new toy...things are looking up

And another thing... Oniel Cousins has to go. Im 6'1 150 pounds and I can do a better job pass blocking than him. You might as well not even play any one there if youre gonna play him. People run right by him. Hes gonna get flacco put in a stretcher. Good thing tyrod can move a little bit or he was toast last night.

Are you a vegan, lol?

this pick excites me a lot, i cant picture the steelers being able to stop our wr corps! i love pitta, and doss, and im really sure that torrey smith just had an off day, and now anquan and evans together? its looking better and better. now lets focus on that O-line!

This is good news. after last night's mess I wanted to choke Ozzie, then he go's and does something really great. I mean for a 4th? that's awsome. Now we need a good Left Tackle and move Oher back to the right side and get a solid center. When the Chiefs come to town, if Gaither plays well it will prove my theory that he was faking his injury to prove a point after Coach insulted him. It won't make me happy but I really think that was the case. Go RAVENS!!

i dont agree with this everyone remembed what happened to stallworth last year
[/quote]
stallworth v evans completely different talent plus evans will be a number 2 so they have no choice but to throw him the ball, stall was the 3/4

Remember when everyone was panicking when we didnt pick up Malcolm Floyd or any other receiver?
IN OZZIE WE TRUST. Hes got a plan and so far its working, picked up a better FB and a better back up RB and picked up a younger faster WR than Mason, young TEs have huge potential Kruger proved that we dont need a pass rusher man is a beast. I'm sorry I doubted you Ozzie lol you have proven yourself time and time again.

not gonna lie im completely happy and ready for the season. we are and always have been a power run team. we have big run blockers that control the line of scrimmage and in turn we control time of possession and limit turn overs. we rely on our defense to be better than there offense and cause at least a few stops so we can come out on top. having speed receivers is more of a threat than a necessity and now we have that threat. evans and smith will make our run game better and rice, williams, allen, parmele is a dangerous and reliable stable. were going to be awesome on playaction..... i like doss a lot and the pitta dickson rivalry is going to be great for the team.

its expected for olineman to struggle... especially in the preseason. o line is technique and assignment while dline is about emotion and athleticism. i expect some of the glitches to be repaired but i do worry about oher getting used by cole. trent cole is good but hes no harrison, freeney, .... he needs to get his game up or move back to the right cant risk joe getting hurt.

secondary struggled but we were missing both starting corners. carr will be playing over the slot and cary williams is hungry enough to steal someones spot if there not careful

we have the deepest, most talented roster in the league that is all.

No they traded and took on his remaining two year contract that pays 5 million this year and another 5 million next year. My question is, are they going to restructure? I thought they were already having cap problems?

i have no faith in mckinney. seems to have worse work ethic than gaither, but he is a better player and frankly anyone at tackle would make me happy

my q about him is he is overweight and out of shape so if we grab him can we whip him into good enough shape to be able to block harrison/woodley?

So you think a guy who would pull a ridiculous stunt like that should have been our starting LT? And if he wasn't faking the injury, then it's a good thing we actually gave Oher some practice before he had to start there anyway, right?

No, Ben Z, I don't know where you're getting your info, but it's wrong. He's getting $3.75 total over the next two years, with a $1m bonus due on the 5th day of the 2012 league year (a little less than a year from now). And he's already gotten his guaranteed money, so if he gets hurt or plays terribly, at worst we're only out a 4th round pick.

i said b4 give it a month and everyone who was doubting oz would come running back...it only took a week and this move is far better than signing floyd. evans is faster, more proven, a #1 wr, bigger playmaker, and we got him for a 4th rounder than we can easily get back from the supplemental draft

Purple & Black: dude came into camp at 400 pounds. He's not passing anybody's physicals anytime soon. Best to forget about him.

I like the pic up.We needed a vet and got one.He is a deep threat needed that.Doss will end up in the slot cause hands out weigh speed.Boldin is solid glad they pulled the trigger now and not after the second game.

IMO Cary Williams and Webb should be the starting corners Week 1, unless we see a lot more from Jimmy Smith. If Carr is starting on the outside against the Steelers speedy WRs, I may vomit. Center is a hole, but I thought Mattsion played alright for a young guy being thrown in there. Cousins and Oher played bad... I didn't get a chance to watch much of Jah Reid... Did anyone get a good look at him? Grubbs and Yanda looked like the beasts that they are, but they got overshadowed by very poor tackle play and penetration. Vonta made some nice blocks, but was also a victim of the poor tackle play. And Pollard better be the starter week 1.
