I have been beating up on Ozzie but this is vintage. Give up a 4 for Evans knowing that with all the free agent losses, we would get that pick back in supplementals. This is what I expect from Ozzie. Now if he fixes the hole at center until Birk gets back, moves the left tackle back to the right side where he came from and pick up a quality left tackle and we are in the Super Bowl business again. I said before the Williams pick up that if we went through the season with Parmale as our #2 runner and Torrey Smith as our #2 reciever and made no other pick ups, we would be 8-8. With the latest acquisitions of Williams and Evans I am going 10-6. If we manage to pick up a quality left tackle and move Michael to the right, we could be 12 -4. Question is, do we have the money now to do that because if we believe Tyrod is #2 and we have filled our #2 runner and reciever positions, short of the center position which Birk will strengthen, we should be ready to start the season with the players we have. I wonder also if our strength at safety with Reed, Zbikowski, Nakamura and Pollard, we can parlay that into a left tackle.

Very good pickup, as we saw last night we needed a #2 receiver. I think the FO was just waiting to see how things looked in the preseason before pulling the trigger on this. Lets shore up our O-line and go kick the **** outta pitt.

Not bad. Would rather have our O-line shored up. I think Doss and Pitta were amazing last night. Woulda been even more amazing if our QB's had time to throw the ball. Cousins was a mess. Would rather have traded for a starting LT or starting RT. (Though this isn't a bad trade for us at all.)

No doubt a great trade but as you mentioned, we MUST address the center and tackle positions or Joe needs to throw the ball in like .5 seconds from the snap. Our QB will get destroyed if Ozzie doesn't somehow someway find a starting caliber center and tackle. Although we'll have to wait on the Ngata deal and most likely teams to make cut...sadly, I'm almost out of Patience

Lee Evans is going to be a 100% great pick up needless to say. You can focus on his number over the last 2 years but given the team he was on with a revolving door at the QB position what do you expect? I mean what happened when Randy Moss left Oakland for New England? He looked like the Moss from the Vikings days. I am really really really hoping that this move is going to be a sign of one other move I really want to see and that is we go after a legit RT, There are options left. Get Ngata's deal worked and free up some more cap space and then cut Foxworth. We are deep at CB and he is an overpaid bum as it is.

ravenslockup - Glad you've seen the light about McKinnie, lol. However I'm not in denial about Oher, I'm just not ready to throw him out after one bad pre-season game where every tackle struggled in pass protection. I truly believe that most of our problems were due to Matt Birk not being there. The pass protex looked confused and out of rhythm, and those are the center's responsibilities. When we get an actual center to play for us, then I'll be able to judge our tackles fairly.

Good pick up without giving away the next years draft. This will give Smith and doss a little time to get up to speed. Now we need to sure up our offensive line with some depth. I don't know who is out there that can provide it.

they better fix the o line. they better get a back up qb. they better get some cb's. this team still has a ton of work to do.

good move,,but its only as good as the o-line boldin, evans, pitta, dickson, leach, rice, ricky, torrey, doss, parmalee all are good,,but none of it matters when the corners cant get the defense off the field or the o-line gets the offense off the field..thats the real issue,,weapons check d-line and Lb's check safteys check kickers check cb??? o-line??

Mattison did not do that bad of a job last night, the only person I kept hearing was Cousins, missed tackle, Cousins missed tackle and so on....

In Ozzie we trust. Good move. Boldin is #1 and Evans is #2 and we have a good healthy competition for #3. I like our addition. Going to solidify our receiver corps.

Great. Im very happy for this move. However it doesnt mean anything if we have to time to let him get down the field.

And may I add dont be upset if he has 2 catches this year... and 6 reverse plays. Just saying.

Great move, this dude is a #1 WR...him and Boldin will help our young guys as well. If the OL can play decent this year we should see Flacco take that next step. Sucks for the Steelers, their weakness is their secondary and we are going to pass all over them..

And another thing... Oniel Cousins has to go. Im 6'1 150 pounds and I can do a better job pass blocking than him. You might as well not even play any one there if youre gonna play him. People run right by him. Hes gonna get flacco put in a stretcher. Good thing tyrod can move a little bit or he was toast last night.

@tbird

I understand your point, and I'll see what we do. Matt Birk wasn't playing either today

Yet...

It was still frustrating watching our O line.

It was frustrating. My post about Cousins got censored last night, so I can't repeat how I really feel about that. RAVE ON, OZZIE!
