MERGED: Lee Evans Traded to the Ravens

I'm terminally ecstatic about Lee Evans signing; just what the doctor ordered, I think. He's a valid deep threat and
you can't double team Evans and Boldin.

Foolishly optimistic perhaps, but I think this is gonna work out quite well for the Ravens.
I'm pretty psyched too, especially because he can blow past coverage and the Steelers have a weak secondary. I can see Joe throwing a couple bombs his way come week 1. Harbaugh already said Evans has picked up the offense quick like he's been around for a while. That's good..and Joe likes his speed and his route running.

I've already added Evans to some of my fantasy teams haha

I expect good things IF..and this is a big if the O-line can come together and pass protect, it takes time for some pattern to unfold and Joe is going to need to be able to stand in there and deliver the ball without getting sacked. Also same thing with the run game, if our OL cant get any push off the ball it wont matter that we picked up Leach if him and Rice can't make it out of the backfield

....but yes, very excited about Lee Evans!!!

They aren't done adding players so I would expect to see some OL help coming out way

This could really open up alot of new opportunities for the Ravens "O". If, like you all have stated the "O" line can pull it together. I Ozzie will straighten it out one way or another, the man is awesome. Add me to the psyched list.

He said thats all they had available so he took it but he probably will change it, thats what he said, he used to be 83 so maybe he tries to get it from ed dickson...or he just keeps 85...which I dont really mind, I mean I respect what Mason did for us and helped Joe become a better QB but he's no Ray Lewis or Ed Reed...there will never be another player wearing 52 in baltimore
I agree. I was kind of shocked at first that he had Mason's #85, but there will be another name on that number jersey in Baltimore. It will not be a retired #. So in that sense, I was alright with Evans wearing it because I just know he will do the number proud.

Edit: Besides, if he does keep the #, we know Joe won't have any problem finding him, lol

what's up with our infatuation in 30-something wideouts.....remember when we were suppose to be "scary good" last year at the receiver position?? the bills only got a 4th round pick and some of you are acting as though he was worth a 1st or second.....hmmm, it seems the bills were way to happy to get rid of this one-trick pony who has a knack for dropping passes....its about SHOW AND PROVE with me. Lee Evans only had 500+ yards last year folks, relax! its not as if we're getting desean jackson or mike wallace. evans runs well but he's not a big time burner. he's just only faster than the WR vets that we've had....maybe ozzie was the one who got fleeced. we'll see...

I just hope Joe adjusts for the speed difference when he sees #85 running the fly.

dude neither one of these wideouts require double-team...if a team does double up on boldin or evans, it would be of choice not necessity. evans has good speed but he's not a burner.

i looked up the stats for when the bills played the steelers in 2010...lee evans only had 1 catch for only 9 yards....pittsburgh shut him down(uh-oh). Evans had his biggest game against us.

Evans was the fastest player on the field. The only way we could stop him was to double-team him.

I don't think anyone expects him to be Mike Wallace or Desean Jackson. I am just happy to have a vet with speed, rather than 3 possession receivers.

Seems like quite a few people joined up just this week to post negative comments. Let the guy play in a game with us first. He may flourish with us having having a substantial threat in our RBs, TEs, and now our WRs.

Yes, some outstanding research. The Ravens are a better team and a better offense than the Bills, in any case.

He appears to be striking fear into the hearts of Pittsburgh fans... which is why, I assume, you're here posting about it.

People forget that that bills game was Reeds first game back. The corners were not comfortable playing with him becuz his style is totaling different then Zibby. He did not practice with the team all year and just was thrown n the fire when our secondary was already jelly with Zibby. We were n the top 5 when Zibby was playing. That was our worst game secondary wise.

Stevie Johnson and I disagree. The "choice" to double team Evans or Boldin will be made a "necessity" by any DC who wants to stop the passing game and win the game.

"Ryan Fitzpatrick seconded comments recently made by Bills coach Chan Gailey, saying he wants to get Lee Evans more involved this season.

'I'm looking to get (Evans) way more involved in the offense," Fitzpatrick said. 'Some of the attention will go off him and he won't see the constant double-team.'"

Looked up those same stats in the game; David Nelson had 6 catches for 58 yrd and Stevie Johnson had 7 for 68 (and a dropped TD pass!) Any chance the stillers double teamed Evans or is David Nelson that good?

Without Lee Evans, Stevie Johnson, would have never gotten a thousand yards, Boldin>than Josnson, and Boldin had over 800 yards without a speed demon reciver. Just imagine what Boldin can do with both Evans and Smith, two speed demon guys.

Welcome to the Forum. I always have respect for you Bills' fans. In the face of some really poor management, you guys have always been steady in your support for your team.

Thanks for Evans too btw. He seems like a class act all the way and I can't wait to see him and Flacco team up.
He is. And thanx for the kind words...it will be lights out!...btw....9 sacks on the Bears last night...hopefully our D is back

Ya I was watching that game. Merriman looked great in there and Marcell Dareus will be a beast along with Kyle Williams. I think the Bills could surprise this year because the big problem was always the run defense and with all the new LB you guys picked up along with Dareus, it will be a fun year watching Bills games for sure!

Btw that evil eye guy must be a fan of another team and he was looking for a forum to troll and he chose ours. I wouldn't worry about him, he seems fairly out to lunch anyways...
