Any News On The Injured Starters?

I'm curious as to how long some of our injured starters will be nursing some of those wounds? Particularly Foxworth and Birk? I've seen articles that state the fact that these players are dealing with some injuries but no articles specifying how long they may be dealing with them. Any speculation as to how long we may be without some of these starters? I hope we have Birk and Foxworth back before Week 1.

I think Foxworth doesn't have an injury, he's just feeling the knee more than he expected he would. I expect he'll get used to it and be ready for the season, maybe before sooner.

Birk, the last I heard, might miss the start of the season and even if he doesn't I'm slightly skeptical that he'll last the whole season without going down with some form of re-injury.

Cool. Thanks for the update. Question: Do you think our back-up center can get the job done? I don't know much about him.

Bryan Mattison? No chance. I always thought he was just on the team because his father was the D-coord.

Maybe not but I don't like the sound of him starting a significant period in the regular season. If he proves me wrong, great, but I don't think it's likely.

Ya I agree Mattison wasn't too bad last night. It is possible for some of these guys that weren't good last year to improve. The only position I'm worried about is RT after Cousins got manhandled.

I wouldn't be encouraged to see him start in the regular season either. I have a feeling Casey Rabach could be signed again, not that that would really put me at ease either.

No me either but maybe more so than Mattison who despite all of our offensive line worries last year barely came off the PS.

Yeah, Cousins in that position frightens me. We cannot risk Joe going down by giving Cousins an opportunity. You want to play him through the preseason to see if their is some improvement, fine; but, make sure to have a plan B if no improvement comes to fruition.
