I know it's way too early to say we have no chance of winning a Superbowl, but with all these rookies I just don't see how it can happen...

Honestly, it's too early to even start this thread.

If you've watched football long enough, you know that every preseason, people freak out and it's usually unfounded. Preseason is preseason. We repeat the same thing every year for the exact same reason: preseason performances usually don't matter. Focus more on the individual performances than the outcome or the chemistry of the squad as a whole, as most teams usually don't go full-bore and never show their full bag of tricks.

The 2008 Lions went undefeated in the preseason, only to complete the first 0-16 season in NFL history. That shows you exactly how "important" preseason is in determining a team's regular season success.

Yeah I agree with you. I think I just hit the panic button too soon, just because we let go of a lot of veteran players. Hopefully we turn out to be a lot better than I think.

Well, even with the rookies we improved from last years team, and we have an easier schedule. That by itself would leave one to believe that we would improve if anything this season.

And any team that can improve on a 12-4 record certainly has a shot at the Super Bowl.

Of the veterans we let go, only one would have made a difference tonight, Mason. Otherwise you are going to base that off of two drives worth of starters?

look face the facts i am a ride or die raven but we are no were close to last year squad. everybody can make an excuse to cover up this year but what's presented in front of us is what we are going to get..i made a topic and it was about concerns and open holes to fill and that's how this year is going to fulfill like it or not its only facts...Much love to Bmore

We suck! May as well start planning for next year. No chance at all that even a single one of our young wr will contribute nicely, no chance that Flacco gets even better than he already is, no chance at all that our defense will be top 3 or better this year! This game is concrete proof of that.

Agreed. We should cut Michael Oher too, he let up 2 sacks. Torrey Smith is obviously a bust.

Holy moly, the Ravens lost their first pre season game. We are done, toast, finished, no chance in hell, not after the first pre season game that's for sure. Really???????

I guess Charger fans are losing their minds as well, are they going to bench Rivers, like we need to bench Joe for throwing 50% and racking up only 60 yards? It's a sham, it's a mockery, it's a shamockery these Ravens I tell you. IT'S ONE FREAKING PRE SEASON GAME, if you want to talk about super bowl after a couple weeks of practice and one pre season game, and say you don't see it happening, well HELLO it's exactly what it is. A couple weeks of practice and a pre season game :34853_brickwall:

Oh and I voted "not a chance" I mean with all the time they have spent together during the LOCK OUT, they should be super bowl primed and ready, and I just don't see it after ONE PRE SEASON GAME. Help I'm drowning :toilet:

Where did all these fairweather fans come from?

I guess they were hiding until a chance to bash their team all they want.

Couldn't have said it better. The coaches on O and D has a vanilla game plan that puts more focus and emphasis on individual play more so than a game plan for the chemistry of the whole team which you will see in the regular season. Preseason games is nothing more than to evaluate talent, mainly the younger guys / rookies, there is a reason why the starters only play a series or two. Ok, the Eagles did it better than us, whoopty doo! I'm sure you can go back and look at a lot of the SB champions preseason record and output in those games and they stack up to the type of games the Ravens just had which wasn't fully bad, plenty of bright spots to be excited for leading into the season. I mean, this game just really exposed what we figured would be our weakness anyway which was the O-line and the coaching staff put Cousins on the spot today and I'm sure he is digging his own grave and they will probably start off with Reid in the next game. Also, Carr showed his true colors too (nickel back ) so it makes Jimmy and Cary chance of being the starter from Day 1 even more stronger.

Calm down people, we going to be aight b/c there are a lot of other teams with bigger concerns than us. Also, we were getting good pressure today without blitzing, just imagine what we can do to Big Ben with the O-line he has to protect him now, we str8. If we were to put major meaning to this game, the score was only 13-6 anyway with the Eagles being considered the " Dream Team " on O and D.
