When he gets the protection and actually has a chance to scan the field and find receivers we'll see. but he was running all over the field against the eagles and was never able to drop back feeling comfortable

actualy that and there is the issue of his height he is only 6'1 most qbs in the league that can lead are 6'3+ that 2 inches can be all the diff between a completion and interception, I feel like we are in Anthony Wright V2.0

Umm... Mike Vick is 6'1" and Drew Brees is exactly 6' and we call them great Qb's..... so that pretty much knocks your point way out of the park.

Remember how Joe Flacco looked like a deer caught in the headlights in his first games against the Pats? Tyrod had those type moments, but was given time to overcome them.

Also to add to the fact that he was playing in his first NFL game, he also had his, sort of mentor on the opposite sideline watching his every move. So we don't know who the need to impress weighted on Tyrod.

He did really well considering. I thought he missed a couple of open guys at times, mainly Torrey Smith twice.

I think he needed a better understanding of when to push down field and when to check down, but all that will come with time.

The one thing Tyrod doesn't need help with is running with the ball. He's not as electric as Vick with the ball in his hands, but he might be the closest thing to him. I also think at this stage, Tyrod is way better then Vick throwing the ball as a rookie.

I thought Tyrod stuggled to trust what he saw at times, and that caused him to hold the ball, when he needed to get rid of it.

All in all I was impressed with Tyrod's ability to bounce back. 1 pick, 2 picks, 3rd pick overturned. The guy keep fighting. I also like how he seeming commanded his offense. He was checking in and out of plays. So of the decisions were wrong, some were right, but he was learning and that's what you want.

After all the emotion of wanting to see the Ravens do well is gone, getting a better appreciation of what took place is easier.

Watching that game, you could clearly see Tyrod's passion and love for the game. Even after getting blasted a couple times, he's on the sideline smiling and just having the time of his life.

It was trial by error. Tyrod made a lot of errors in game one, now lets see what he learned from them in practice and game 2. The idea is to improve from day to day and I think Tyrod will do just that.

Not a big deal, but he scrambled left, not right. Also, LaQuan Williams let a TD slip thru his hands as well.

Yea and the last pass of the game seemed a lot more catchable then the attempt Harper made for it.

It looked like Harper maybe lost the ball or thought the defender would get a hand on it.

It would be interesting to see how the coaches reacted to that play.

Oh man, thanks for bringing that up! Crazy that Harper didn't make a better attempt at that ball! Looked very catchable...

Tryod will improve as he continues to play. to me...he will make a good backup for Joe Flacco and he will learn alot from Joe. they will make a great 1-2 punch!

Joe Flacco is durable so hopefully we never get to see Tyrod on the field when it matters...unless the game is out of reach and he comes in for some clean up duty

Trust me Mike Vick is not 6'1"!
I'm 6-1" and I'm taller than him. I saw him up close at a football camp over the summer.

See, proves my point even more ;)

Either that, or you're underestimating your height lol. Just teasing.

But really, height has nothing to do with it, unless you're 5'9" and playing the spot. As long as you have great awareness, good mobility, and decent accuracy, height is nothing.

I really like Tyrod but I would feel more comfortable with him as our #3 this season.

Once Pitt cuts Leftwich or Batch I wouldn't mind scooping one of them up. That way we get an insight to the Pitt offense and have a serviceable #2 for a year. By the time that cut comes hopefully we have Ngata signed long term and we will have the cap space to make such a move.

All I saw was Troy Smith. I'm not impressed and worried if we have any injury to Flacco we are in deep do-do.

Throwing of his back foot a lot, way overthrowing the receiver on the interception, accuracy is not good...

I would disagree that height is not important for a QB. There is a reason most NFL QBs are in the 6'4" to 6'6" range, it makes it easier to see over the line to find open receivers. Not saying shorter QBs can't succeed, but height is definitely an asset.

There is a good chance it is Dixon who gets cut. He ran his mouth about being the starter plus he looked really bad in their pre-season game.

That said, I don't want any of those three as our back-up.
