After-Game Thoughts

Well after the Ravens loss to the Eagles, what are you guys POSITIVE and NEGATIVE thoughts about what happened.

Positive
1: TE's did a really good job, I don't Think losing Heap was a big deal.
2: Solid group of running backs doing work is what I like to see
3: Paul Kurger and Arthur Jones were great, Kurger has showings of improvements.
4:Pass rush was superb.

NEGATIVE
1: Tackling was kinda off a lot of missed backfield tackles.
2: Blocking was very bad on the left side we need more O-Line dept.

OK what are your thoughts.

Oher's our only left tackle, i think he got beat once, but teams rarely have to left tackles.

Cousins looked poor on the left side and the right side. Jah looks more comfortable in there.

Some one line thoughts:

Kruger is a beast.

Rice still has it.

Cam is predictable.

Funny preseason game against the "dream team" (please)

The new rules are ridiculous!

Kindles jersey is incredibly long...

Reed wasn't giving it his all. (thank god)

I like Taylor, he has potential.

Pass rush looks good, specifically Kindle.
RB's impressed.
Cousins looked horrible. Reid not too bad, some false start penalties which can be costly but can be worked on.
What little I saw of Laquan (sp?) I liked.
Cary Williams showed up for this game.
Kruger, good work. Jones, good work.
I also think we are alright at TE.

As I said in the game thread, these guys need to chase some chickens around. They'll learn how to shadow their man and TACKLE.

Edit: I forgot Pollard. He impressed.

I don't think Tyrod is ready to be our #2 guy. We need a serviceable vet.

Cody cant keep his jersey tucked in-----sign of an inexperienced D Coordinator.

Kruger, Pollard, Jones, Nakumura, Cary Williams, Mcphee all played well

Cousins needs to be cut. This project is over.

Offense looks the same as last year.

We need some help at receiver and (O-line).

Losing Josh Wilson sucks.

No love for McPhee? The guy had two really impressive hurries, and made a few other plays too.

Jones, Kruger, Pitta, LaQuan and Cary impressed me the most. Kindle flashed a few times too.

5. Ravens sign OG
6. Ravens cut Cousins
7. Ravens burn Cousins' jersey
8. Ravens burn the files they have on Cousins

negative - cousins

Oher gave up 2sacks. By a total nobody pass rusher from eagles. That was within a 6 minute game span.

Beautiful rundown. Cousin has ZERO excuses for that trash out there, and the O lines, each one of them, as a whole really struggled, mainly in pass pro. Call me crazy since this is preseason, but I think I saw a little anger in Lewis' and Suggs' eyes on the sidelines after giving up that impressive Eagles drive and TD.

Torrey was blanketed, but Tandon did really well I thought. Nice catch in traffic where it looked like has was going to take a huge hit. Pitta was obviously really good.

I LOVED the way Parmele ran tonight. I really saw purpose in his running, particularly on that one drive. As far as Berry, much the same, I just hope the coaching staff doesn't put too much stock into that dropped TD. I just hope they realize it may be a fluke and they don't cut him for it. I like this backfield.

The tackling was indeed bad in the first half, but that's what preseason is for. Learning the playbook and fundamentals. The bothersome part about it is that tackling has been an issue here for a little bit of time now, but with Pagano, I would imagine it will become more consistently good.

Not a lot of talk about him, but Ellerbe was also flying. Please let him still be in contention for the starting job next to Ray. KINDLE did really well. Talk about a pleasant surprise. He penetrated and tackled well.

Just as a team, though, we seemed to have the same general problems outside of talent and needs. Not finishing drives, making a mental mistake or two down by the goaline. LaQuan had a really nice catch and run at the end of the game, but had a false start the next play. After another catch, he drops a TD.

Tyrod has potential for sure but predictably making rookie mistakes. He's not ready for 2nd backup yet, possibly next year or late season.

Pass rush looks good, but too many mistackling which can be fixed.

What really continuously going through my head is our recievers couldn't get opened, reminding me of last year. They need to develop better route running.

Not really exciting about Cam is still in charge like usual but I have to bite through it.

Doss looks physical and has great hands. Pitta was making great catches. Torrey was vanished.

Again, Cousin looked bad.

So many things in my head and those are the only I can come up.

We have 3 preseason games coming up, and we need to adjust and fill up missing piece like another vet WR.

Oh yah forgot, Birk needs to stay healthy. We need him badly.

edit* Pollard looked impressive....

I hate this new kickoff rule.
It doesn't help the Ravens or big kickers like Cundiff as the average kickers will clock up the touchbacks

But it's more then just watching the Ravens, a kickoff return is one of most electrifying plays in football for any team and that's going to be way down

Hate this rule, change it back

Very disappointed by Torrey Smith. It's still early but not even a single catch in more than a half of action!? Tandon Doss looked great though.

Let's he if he can bounce back next week. Tonight, he learned you need to work back to the QB when he's under pressure, and never give up on a route.

I didn't think Webb played that bad at all. He got turned around by Chad Hall on the completion near the endzone, but he was still flying and making tackles, as well as hitting home on that blitz.

Yea. He had a few good tackles. But I thought there were a couple plays where he struggled in coverage. I'd probably put him in the more so-so realm.

I've already seen alot more from Pollard than I do Zbikowski. I love the guy but by the end of this preseason, we'll see that Pollard is the clear cut starter. Nakamura isn't even an after thought.

Kruger looked like a beast, as did art Jones. Kruger was facing a good offensive line. Imagine what he will do to Pitsurgs crappy line.

Marcus Smith must be sweating as I'd say there is talk of giving his roster spot to LaQuan Williams

And wow, I'd not seen Kindle before and he's seriously big. Well more then I was expecting, maybe that was just me

Ellerbe played well and I was impressed by him. Also, Arthur Jones has started to make a name for himself. Definitely could work his way into the starting lineup. Pitta is a stud.

First of all, the 5 yard difference in kickoffs will ruin special teams all year. Horrible rule and it will take away a lot from the game.

Second, it is still preseason and I'm not gonna get too angry about the disorganization of players and inexperience by the some of the rookies when they have only practiced for a few days. Still o line has question marks but I think Jah Reid played better than Cousins did.

Third, man it was good to watch some football
