I would even say it was 2 because I don't think Kelly Gregg would have started over Mount Cody this year.

I wonder what size jersey he wears? That thing looked like a curtain on him.

ok guys now that we have seen all of the holes in the 1st pre-season game what do you give The OZ so far ? The defense was awful, the running game was less then effective and no matter who was throwing the ball against us we did not have the answer to stop them. Our best defense was them stopping them selves.

In 2 series Rice gained more from side to side then he did moving forward. Flacco got smack several times and our defense looked just confused.

It sure is a good thing that we got rid of Heap, Mason and Willis and company. Who needs experience when we could have what we have right now.

The expect top dollar for seats etc but just dump the best we have to offer. Oh thats right Mason was only our leading receiver the last few years and heap was only our best TE and Willis got us into the end zone. Who needs to score or keep the ball with a running game while our defense struggles. Why would you strip both sides of the ball in the same year ? We had a few chances to improve either side but sat idle. Welcome to 2011 and Thanks Ox and company.

Have you noticed that we did not score a touch down tonight nor did we run the ball at all with success. Sure we can compete with the steelers. Great choices again this year front office gurus. why not just enlist an entire CFL team if you want to just put any team on the field. Would save a few bucks and atleast we would not have to deal with your BS excuses and theories while we watch a team lose on all levels by 2nd and 3rd string guys stopping us.

Looks like Oz finally crapped out that lucky horseshoe. Like he ever had a clue at all.

I gotta stop posting stuff on here after a game. Its going to get me banned, im not playing. One more warning and im banned.

So i decided im going to look at the good. And the good things that came out of this game is, Our safety Pollard, Pitta, who looked really good, really does remind me of Todd Heap , i kid you not. I wasnt really a fan of him either , but im starting to be a believer.

AnD , the dude that was T.Smiths teammate, i cant remember his name but i saw some skill in him.

And , lastly Cary Williams, he looks really good in my book, id rather have him than Carr to be honest. Carr is worse then i thought. He belongs back at the nickel package going againts 3s and 4s, getting burned the whole time and having Reed babysitting him.

Webb also started to look good after a little into the game. Look like he knock rust off and then was good to go. And yes Webb got robbed yet again. He should have had that fumble recovery TD.

What did you want Ozzie to do with a limited cap? Its not like we had 30 mil to work with... we had limited resources. If we had Heap, Willis and Mason the game would have turned out the same as it did tonight. Its pre-season so the players aren't given 110% because our vets know they don't really have to push themselves the extra mile. I like our current team its fresh, young and has many years to learn the game and grow. I am looking forward to this coming season.

This has to be one of the most emotionally driven, but completely unintelligent posts I have ever seen.

The Ravens starters played less then a quarter of football, without about 10 days of full practices under their belts, and you're ready to throw in the towel.

True negative observations:

RT needs a veteran, no questions asked. Possible fix: Bryant Mckinnie at LT, Oher at RT. McKinnie was cut for being out of shape. GOOD NEWS: Shape can be obtained, and we can use his expertise.

The secondary is not a concern AS most preseason games involve bread and butter coverages. Reasoning is that it allows for coaches to evaluate young guys, and for veterans to get good 1-1 work. Downside: No deception, no zones.

Justin Harper = downside however
Positives:

-Kruger, Kindle look very alive.
-A. Jones and Mcphee look EXCELLENT at spelling our starters at their respective positions. I love the burst from Purnell.
- Pollard can ball, and is a major upgrade over Landry. He is faster, and an even better Thumper. It's good to see #31 back in action too.
-Leach is a bulldozer
-Tyrod can blaze, and could actually work excellent as a "wildcat" option in our offense. I would argue that he is the fastest player on the entire side of the ball. His burst is impressive.
-Tandon Doss should be our #2 receiver with Torrey and David Reed handling slot duties. He is impressive, and a clone of Q.
-LaQuan Williams will make the roster, no questions asked.
-Parmele is ready for a chance, Allen is not. Berry has a shot at roster.
-Pitta is not Heap, but damn close

Going forward

We will see a more complex defensive scheme similar to the one used against Pitt. in week 1.

We will see tighter pass blocking on the edges. I think tonight's issue was slightly based off the fact that the whole line has less then two weeks time to work together, and the anchor, Birk, wasn't there to make @line calls.

We will see better down field routes as a result of better PB.

The end

People point at other teams and say 'look what they did'. But the way we've built our contracts in the past, did not help with this years salary cap. But with other teams, like the Eagles, they were in a good year for their CAP.

It's not just about picking up guys, but you have to manage your finances. Hence the reason why we had to let go some of the high priced vets. We needed to get under the CAP.

Great point PuRock.

Fact is, far too many people think that the NFL is like madden and you can just sign every good player with no consequence. People think its about names and <crap>. It's quite frankly, very annoying. People call for a GREAT GM's head when they probably can't even manage their own finances, let alone the millions that make up a salary, the egos of athletes, and all the other <crap> that goes down for the successful execution of a franchise.

We need to get Flacco some protection because he was getting banged around way to much for just a pre-season game.

Every hit that Flacco takes against a team like the Steelers will cause me to flinch harder than ever this year because we're going no where with Tyrod Taylor.

Either that our run more 3 step drops. We've got to get the ball out quicker if we can't improve our o-line.

preseason isn't about wins and losses, its about evaluating individual performances. so unless you back up this game was as bad as you say it was with individual proof stop being a debbie downer

At least I don't feel bad after this piss poor performance because I expected it. I have been saying this all along well at least since Ozzie cut half out starters. I have been getting gripe from everyone saying I wasn't a fan and our team will be great,we will be fine with our WR's and all the holes we now have. Pretty much telling me I didn't know what I was talking about.

Please don't say it is just pre season I don't care about the 2nd 3rd and 4th quarters Our starters looked like crap on both sides. To say it is just pre season is foolish it is preseason for the other team to and there first team looked sharp!
[/quote]
Seriously? Another -100 neg. rep candidate? It's just pre-season whether you like it or not. It's been this way for a long time for all teams. Please don't tell me the season is lost already. :scared2:

I think there should be a rule if you get over 30 neg votes then you should have to wear the hat of shame and there should be a disclaimer below every post that you make.

These players have just started playing with each other again and our stars played for one or two series. With Flacco on the field it is a completely different team. Same with Suggs, ngata, Ray ray, ray rice, Suggs. But disowning Oz because our 3rd stringers are terrible is perfectly logical too...

Not to mention the effects the lockout had on organized team activities. Until the hat of shame becomes available the operative option is red. :34853_shakehead:

Stop emulating philli fans...

Because of Ozzie and his staffs, we are one of the best organizations in the NFL league, and there are very few of them.

PS: again Ozzie is the fault? man i'm going to bed.....

I agree with you on that, im trying to look at the positives, but my main concern honestly is The O line, they were rag dolls. It was bad imo. Another thing i wasn't impressed about is the play calling. Imo it was high school football, i knew exactly what play they were doing and was maybe fulled 2 tops.

On the flipside, since I live in Eagles Country, I'm hearing from a lot of Eagles fans who think that Howie Roseman and Andy Reid are the best personnel evaluators in all of football, and that the Eagles will go 16-0 and become the first team to go 19-0 and win the Super Bowl.

I'm not kidding.

I think Oz did a terrific job, considering how close we are riding the cap limit. Wait until the Ngata signing. Then things will happen.

i agree. the line was horrid, but they were also back ups.. how many of them will see action this season? and cam has always been predictable, nothing surprising. not saying thats a good thing but its still no reason to panic just yet

I hear ya, but we looked like pure crap in 08 preseason ,when Flacco was a rookie. And we honestly played alot better than i thought they would in the regular season in 08. Im going to hold my judgement til after the 3rd and 4rd preseason game, but right now , it doesn't look like we are going to beat the Stealers. Their first preseason game is tom , Friday against the Redskins. So i can judge the game without being bias and to compare. T.Taylor looked good in my opinion when he had time to throw and he can scramble, i like it. We will need him if our O Line is going to play like that in the regular season, Flacco will be hurt imo. Pitta to me reminds me of Todd Heap, he really impressed me and before i had my doubts about him. But id pick him over dickerson honestly. And also im really excited for Bernard Pollard, really impressive. My only problem was Chris Carr, he got burned alot and Reed had to babysit him the whole time and thats not good. Im hoping the EAGLES release A. Samuels and we pick him up. Carr belongs in the Nickel package at best covering 3s and 4s.
