Pittsburgh Ravens Fans Aside From Me?!

32 posts in this topic

I use to hang out in Pittsburgh (south-side) all the time because of a girl I was dating. Even saw Rothlisberger at a bar, he was a jerk.

It's a tough town to talk smack in. Use to get into a lot of altercations because of my mouth.

Fortunately for myself I have quite a few boys here that would have my back if someone were to try ****, they reserve that right no one else gets it. I am not a huge smack talker unless someone does to me and then when the ravens beat them I begin hehehe.

My job is seriously split down the middle with steeler fans and ravens fans. Scruffles twice a year and constant smack talk. They should just go get jobs in PA....

That in turn requires that there be a job market here, the listings are slim pickins up here of late at least that is for decent wage jobs. personally I need a day job to go with my UPS night one, it has been hellish trying to find a job that works around its schedule.

I would love to go to the MNF game, I just do not make enough income to afford the tix for the Steelers games. Maybe when some one above smiles down upon me and gives me a rich dead family member :P

LOL indeed you would have to have lived here being a Ravens fan to really appreciate it. There is one team that Stillers fans hate more though the Cheatriots. :D

Well if any of Yall are going to be in the area for a game or otherwise and want to get together for some football talk and a beer or two let me know. I am not a big drinker but love good conversation, esp if it gets me to a bar and out of the house for a bit so my wife can have her alone time.

My wife is from Pittsburgh and we visit my in-laws every Thanksgiving. With that in mind, I'm going to need to find a sports bar to watch Ravens/Bengals game. Any suggestions on where to go? Is there a Ravens bar in Pittsburgh (can't imagine it makes good business sense, but who knows).

Can anyone help me out?

Sounds like all the Ravens fans hide in Pittsburgh. If the game isn't on local channels in Pittsburgh, I'll be at the Buffalo Wild Wings... I believe the one in Gibsonia... wearing my Ed Reed jersey.

Hopefully there will be some other Ravens fans there.

You think so? I was debating about it. The Browns play at 1pm and the Steelers play at 4:15pm. I figured the Browns game would be a bigger priority (or whatever better match up is going on at 1pm) than the Ravens/Bengals.

I might still make my way to Buffalo Wild Wings... or any where else Ravens fans might gather.

Well, I looked up the TV guide online and the Ravens game wasn't included... so I went off to the Buffalo Wild Wings.

It was mostly empty for my 12:30pm arrival, which was great. I got them to put the game on the big screen and provide the audio for it as well. As expected, some Steeler fans showed up a little later and they couldn't help but heckle. I was clearly out of place with my home Ed Reed jersey on. Oh well, we won and I got to watch it. That's all that matters.

Either way, it seems like a great place to watch games when they don't play at the same time as the Steelers.

I moved to Pittsburgh in 2006 for a job. I got married and I've been living here and defiantly beating my Ravens' drum ever since. It's been tough on a Ravens fan the last few years - there were the three losses last year and I actually attended the big MNF beatdown they gave us the year before (or at least a half of it).

But yeah they aren't too many of us around here. I know one other guy and that's it.

I'm about 45 minutes to an hour north of Pittsburgh. Grew up in a household where my dad was a Pittsburgh fan and my mother was a Browns fan. Needless to say, I didn't make anyone happy when I was a Ravens fan, heh. Made football season interesting six times a year.

Wow, the biggest three-way rivalry in sports and you guys cover all three teams. You don't have a younger sibling that's a Bengal's fan do you? Maybe wife or girlfriend? That would be the one way to really cap it off.

Half my family lives in Pittsburgh. But thanks to my grandma who forced my grandfather to move to Batlimore. So whenever I see my Pittsburgh family at family get togethers, I don't talk football with them, because they are ignorant.

not all......
... but most pittsburgh fans are ignorant.
They claim they are the only team to "run the ball". But where did the steelers fall last year in running the ball. I think it was around 23, Baltimore was top 5. So who likes to run the ball and play defence?

That's the exact point I was tring to make, We finished with an elite rushing offence. Even tho we did it with three different running backs (and Joe) We still have a young, strong and elite offencive line. Unlike our fellow AFC North counterparts that finished with a horrible year running the ball.
I got in an arguement today with a Steeler fan at work. They all have delusions of grandeur, they think they have a good offence. I tried to explain that they won inspite of thir offence

Hard to smack talk in Pittsburgh about the Steelers as a Raven's fan considering they beat us 3 times last year. That'll all change week 12 this year though!
