Cotchery To The Steelers

42 posts in this topic

Apparently we passed on him and will get to see him twice a season in the black and gold.
Did we miss our chance or does anyone think it's a bad move by the Steelers?
The Steelers don't make a lot bad moves...

It might have been worth signing him just to keep him from going to the Steelers. I'm sure that's a big reason why the Eagles signed Steve Smith. Sure they could use a talented receiver but they also hurt a division rival. I hope we don't look back on this and wonder why we let this happen. If Cotchery has any impact at all in our games against them I'll bet these boards will be lit up by angry posts.

The cries may come later tonight depending on how the rookies look......but they really don't matchup well against the Eagles dream team secondary.

Maybe Flacco will be brave enough to test out the Eagles secondary since it's only pre-season

I'm sure it's for depth, competition and health reasons.

I want to see Grisham make something happen with his shot.

He'd have to be 3rd or 4th I would think.

Who Grisham?

1) Ward
2) Wallace
3) Sanders
4)Brown
5)Cothery
6)Grisham

Doubt we keep Sweed. Drops big passes and constantly hurt. I always wanted to see him live up to his potential but like Parcels always said, "Potential is nothing."

He'll be 5th at best. Unless he kicks butt in what's left of camp or the pre-season.

I am not worried about Cotchery to the Steelers, although I don't think he is a bad player. He's a possession type receiver and unless he is starting or taking over Hines Ward then we wont see him too much anytime soon. However, I am more worried about our O-line keeping the likes of Harrison, Woodley, Polamalu, Timmons, and Casey Hampton off Joe. Actually throw Ryan Clark, Aaron Smith, and new guy Cam Heyward into that mix as well.

I think when we get Birk back our communication from the inside out will be much better, but we really need to start looking to the future when it comes to the center position. I think this year is going to be Birks last hurrah.

Im not worried about him - though I do think Steelers fans are worried about Lee Evans running past their secondary!

Cotchery is more of a possession guy. We already have three speed guys. The Jets fans I've spoken with didn't have a bad thing to say about him.

All depends on how he is used. Stallworth had speed to blow the top off of coverages too.

Guy Whimper, Jaguars T
Frostee Rucker, Bengals DE
Ashton Youboty, Bucs CB

He is, but what's wrong with having two of them at WR and one at TE along with three speed guys at WR? Everyone wants to spread us out to take advantage of our suspect #2 and #3 CB's. Well, we can do the same.
