What One Player?

77 posts in this topic

Ok so its all quiet at the minute and as i know ozzie doesnt give away much, i was thinking who could he be trying to sign to make us better.. then i thought what one player would i love to have in the team that will give us that wee bit extra to us champs... What one player?

Obviously you could say a revis or nmandi to make our defense shut down, or a demarcus ware opposite suggs, but for me the one player i would choose would be andre johnson. Flacco is almost an elite QB, he just needs that real stud receiver to get there, and johnson could easily do that. along side Q and with ray rice in the backfield, the opposite defence wont know what hit them.. Put that along with our great D, wed without a doubt be unstoppable..

So who would you choose?

As soon as I read the title my first thought was either AJ or Fitz. A big time wide reciever. I'd probably take Fitz, just because I like him more and his aerial ability and ball tracking skills might be a tad better than AJ's, which I think would fit well with Flacco.

Andre For receivers and or Jason Witten for TE cause with him we can have all around a more solid blocking and a threat of a TE who won't Give up..

Who wouldn't want Megatron?? He is already one of the best to ever play the game at his position, and he has never had a stable QB throwing it to him (stable as in permanent, Stafford is good when healthy, but he never is); and he isn't even in his prime yet. Defense, Patrick Willis. Hands down. Willis is the second coming of Lewis, the Lion has already said that himself basically

Actually somewhat realistic to acquire: Asante Samuel

Everyone: Patrick Willis, Eric Berry (him with Reed would be INSANE), or Joe Thomas.

If I felt we needed a big time reciever, I'd take Megatron but Fitz would be tempting just because him and Boldin have a history, but I think with Boldin and a bunch of up and coming recievers past this year our core should begin to be elite (assuming they all dont bust which strictly based on TC reports I doubt)

I'm going to stay inside the team, but it's more than 1 player. Guys like Ellerbe, McClain, Gooden, Art Jones, Kruger, Kindle, Webb, J Smith on defense

Then on offense its guys like Dickson, Pitta, and Davon Drew may surprise some people, David Reed is going to be a great player once he gets back from injury, Torrey Smith is that burner we'd never had and he has solid hands, then there's Doss who catchs almost everything thrown to him, if a guy like James Hardy can stay healthy and make the team, thats a big dude, he would be a great Redzone target.

I'm not looking at what we could bring in at this point because no one knows.
Although, I would like to add some OL depth mainly...then if at all possible trade for Lee Evans and that will solidify our offense.

The defense doesn't need to an another pass rusher, Kindle being healthy would bring it, also Ngata said he has been working on rushing the passer more and he had 6 sacks last year..if Jones starts over Redding he's going to bring pressure too. And you can't forget Mount Cody, he's a beast of a man who is going to get a lot of push up the middle.

Clay Mathews might not be the most popular guy for some of you guys but I feel his way of getting to the QB fits our defense more than any other player out there. He is a monster and placed in the mix with the likes of Suggs, Reed, Ngata and Lewis it would be straight up ugly!

Obviously he would have to figure out another number...Ray's #52 better be the only #52 this team ever issues out!

Tom Brady. Not because i dont like flacco but i dont think there is one player that would improve our chances of a superbowl more than Brady.

I believe Calvin Johnson is a FA after this season.

He's scheduled to be a FA in 2013.

you think he will leave the lions then? if they dont improve? or will money be a deciding factor in that decision rather than wanting to win.

Also how good is eric berry? have only seen him once or twice, you dont get much choice for game coverage over here in the uk..

He actually talked about the losing getting to him earlier in the year, and hinted he could leave if things don't turn around. He'll be squarely in his prime come 2013, so he could definitely leave for greener pastures.

Berry is the man. He had his struggles in coverage at times last season, but improved as the season went on and became a play-maker. Check out this rookie highlight video.
