I dunno mang. All the signs are pointing to the return of our OG running game... Cam-style. I mean, c'mon.

We pick up the best blocking FB in the league right now.
We drafted a nasty RT.
We pick up Ricky.
Anquan is the only experienced receiver.
And with Cam's track record of Ravens rushing attack, we can expect to see the unbalanced line, lots of motions, tricky misdirections, etc.

AND we draft a kid who's kinda used to that style of rushing attack in Anthony Allen.
-The Ravens have always utilized a FB.
-Reid has to excel in pass pro as well.
-An experienced backup RB was always a need.
-Q being the only experienced WR doesn't mean passing can't become an emphasis.
-Cam has had to pound the rock a lot the past three season because of the inexperience at QB. He said last week that Joe has looked better than ever in camp. Not that I expect a pass-happy offense, but I do expect Joe to top his passing attempts from last year.
- Allen was drafted because of his physical tools. The Steelers drafted GT RB Jonathan Dwyer last year, but still passed the ball a lot.

There's nothing wrong with a great running attack, but to win in today's NFL, you have to be able pass effectively, even when defenses expect it.

According to Mike Preston, it was because Willis and Cam didn't get along. <_<
Nobody gets along with Cam. Joe doesn't, Gaither didn't, McGahee didn't, Stallworth didn't, McClain didn't. Except for Joe they're all gone.

No worries... this will (hopefully) be his last season, regardless of how well we do.

deal is 4 million on a 2 year deal... 2 million split each year. Good pick up on the ground for us if you look at Williams production over the years...even last year, you could see that hes still productive, still an effective force on the football field, given the amount of carries and/or chances given to him, its rushed very effectively for what its worth. Throw in the Mix with Ray Rice....... whom combined for over 2,000 yards rushing and recieving a few years ago , and then you also throw in a True pro bowl hard hitting FB whom just wants to pound and pound guys... in Leach.... you cant help but say.... thats one potent ground attack.

Not sure what else Ozzie has in store for our offense and our passing attack but this move ( to me) sures up and solidifies the ground game for us..

"...Along with Jerome Harrison, Williams was perhaps the best free agent running back available after averaging a respectable 4.2 yards-per-carry in 16 games for the Dolphins last year..."

All valid and accurate points. BUT, with the return of a potentially elite rushing attack (due to teams wanting to defend the pass) AND a much more experienced Flacco, this style of offense should grow and evolve as well.

I'm thinkin more like '95 Cowboys instead of 2010 Packers.

I agree about the offense evolving.

I'd rather see an offense closer to last year's Packers. Aikman threw the ball less than Joe did last season in '95.

Smoking weed is hardly a crime. I'm pleased with this move, I love Smashmouth football despite the rest of the league being pass-happy. Although I agree we need to address the issues at Center and WR, and then I'll be convinced we can make magic happen. If we can be more than just a one-trick pony on offense it would be refreshing. And signing a WR is the only way to do that, I like our rookies but... they are rookies.

The only issue is that we have no money to work with now until we get Ngata signed, right? Can someone confirm that?

this answers the post about Rice's durability. Hopefully, Williams gets about 8-10 carries a game to spell Rice.

Rice and Nice!

With his holistic healing and herbal remedies, Ricky's going to do wonders for this team. Plus, he can contribute a little on the football field.
It's similar to Ray Lewis and his use of yoga to keep his body feeling younger than it is.

Most players are opposed to these holistic-based treatments and different training techniques because of their need to maintain their masculine image, but yoga, immersion tanks, and various healing methods are actually proven to work wonders. When used as a supplement to traditional conditioning and strength training, you can basically reach your peak physical shape in the same amount of time but with less pain.

I was really joking, but you're right. I don't think it's simply genes that have helped Ricky still perform at a relatively high level.

Yes, welcome Sticky Ricky to the Ravens. Our new RB tandem: Ray and Ricky.

I hope now we get Shaun O'hara as our backup Center.
