Ricky Williams A Raven

How are all of you not stoked on this? Another experienced vet to have around during preseason/TC, 2 years for 2 mil a year as a backup? How is that not a win win, beggers can't be choosers my friends. Now fix the O-line or it won't matter :(

Yes, he's 34, but he is more like 31 having been out of the league for a few years.....I think I kind of like this unexpected pick up!

With his holistic healing and herbal remedies, Ricky's going to do wonders for this team. Plus, he can contribute a little on the football field.

Great signing cause in general RB is where the most injuries happen and I'd MUCH rather have Ricky Williams running the ball instead or Parmele or Anthony Allen.

This is true and since he had to split carries with Ronnie Brown in Miami he's not had to carry the load and take all the punishment..so he should be a fresh 34

I like it, shore up the OL and get a veteran WR and Im happy...happier

Mind = Kaboom.

Smashmouth football. Bread and butter, people. Bread and butter.

Something tells me we're gonna see the return of the unbalanced line.

Lol, yes, love that unbalanced line!!

Seems like the Ravens are refusing to join the rest of the NFL and the passing revolution... maybe we'll see a move back to more smash-mouth football?

Okay run game solidified, now lets go out and sign that veteran big play receiver and I can breathe a little easier.

Rice, Williams, Leach = ridiculous in more ways than one.

Boldin, Smith, Doss, Hardy = Scary and needs to be addressed.

Meh, don't love it, don't hate it.

I'm never going to question Ozzie, but I'm wondering why all of our bigger re-signings/acquisitions are for smash mouth football when the NFL is clearly becoming a soft, pass first league.
I'm hoping it's simply because the coaches want the running game to be more efficient. Because like you said, with where the NFL is right now, you can only go so far relying on a running game.

I'm guessing the contract won't be finalized until he passes a physical.

And a drug test...

Entirely unexpected but I like it. He comes a lot cheaper than McGahee and can probably replicate his production. Plus for all of Ricky's off-field "issues", he's not a bad guy - just a little out there.

Good news for Ricky, number 420 is available!
LOL, that's an understatement at Baltimore. Second good laugh of the day. But seriously, although I was looking forward to seeing what the Rookies had to offer... I like the signing. Now fix that O-line please!

Probably got tired of our run game being stuffed so easily last year at goal and short yardage situations. I hope they trade for a veteran receiver like Lee Evans though.

Williams signed a two-year deal worth $2.5 million with some escalators that could make the contract worth $4 million total. per Schefter.

because we had a much better version of Ricky Williams last year and he rarely saw the field (McGahee).

To everyone who is wondering why Ozzie has been focusing on the "smashmouth" approach in FA.. remember, one of the Ravens BIGGEST problems last year was converting 3rd and under 3yards. We needed to upgrade the running game so we got bulldozer Leach. Now I dont know much about Williams, but he sounds like a brusier from what you all have been saying.

Very nice pick up. I like Ricky Williams and he's a really good back who can catch the ball and be a starter if Rice goes down.

According to Mike Preston, it was because Willis and Cam didn't get along. <_<

So this means our cap is what, 2 million? less?
A lot less.....the actual contract is 2 for $2.5M (with escalators) and is probably back loaded (meaning next year, so he can bu cut if he under performs). Most likely a million or so against cap.

I dunno mang. All the signs are pointing to the return of our OG running game... Cam-style. I mean, c'mon.

We pick up the best blocking FB in the league right now.
We drafted a nasty RT.
We pick up Ricky.
Anquan is the only experienced receiver.
And with Cam's track record of Ravens rushing attack, we can expect to see the unbalanced line, lots of motions, tricky misdirections, etc.

AND we draft a kid who's kinda used to that style of rushing attack in Anthony Allen.

Glad to have some insurance there but I would of rather we addressed Center and Back up QB first.

The thought of Ricky running behind Vonta is kinda sexy though...

I thought it was Willis and harbs personally. But if it was Cam, then I just don't like him even more now haha

It didn't really matter to them when Santonio Holmes was super bowl MVP when he was toking up.

Steelers have a lot of room to talk...
