So does this mean Anthony Allen to the PS?
Most likely. Can't see why he would be kept now. Its a shame. We probably have room for one more guy who will probably be Parmele because he can step in on special teams if needed.

Shoulda known something crazy was going to happen today. Last night I had a dream (well, nightmare) that we traded Ray Rice to the Chargers for a 5th and a scrub WR.Get the season started already

Great signing! You give Ricky Williams a seam which Vonta Leach is going to do alongwith Yanda, he is off to the races! He complements Rice pretty well as a back up - more than anything else I just like the security of having him on our team...

Love this signing. We are back to some Smash Mouth football. Do all you haters still think Ozzie is just sitting there doing nothing?

Just keep him away from David Reed.
[/quote

And more importantly keep him FAR away from jimmy Smith!

I actually like this move. Quality, experienced depth behind Rice now with Williams. I think he still has some gas left, but if not, he's just a backup.

I was quite looking forward to some of the unproven guys fight it out for the backup role, but this signing has put paid to that. A decent but not great signing IMO. It solves one of our less significant needs.

Meh, don't love it, don't hate it.

I'm never going to question Ozzie, but I'm wondering why all of our bigger re-signings/acquisitions are for smash mouth football when the NFL is clearly becoming a soft, pass first league.

He's not bad, he's still got some decent burst and his vision has never been a problem.

Check his stats, he didnt get many yards last year but his rushing average has consistently been over 4 yards a carry. I think he did under that the year before last...

He's that change up back thats for sure...I like

I'd like to have seen Anthony Allen take the job but I'll say this, I'd take Ricky over Parmele any day

Also, this move didnt cost us much, Adam Schefter says 2 year deal for up to 4million that means its an incentive laden contract..so if Ricky hits certain marks bonuses kick in

I think its good move, but we need to call Buffalo about Lee Evans

http://espn.go.com/blog/afcnorth/post/_/id/30367/ravens-should-pursue-bills-wr-lee-evans - Lee Evans article

Really need OL depth too then we good

Now that young WRs could get it done this year but i'd rather be safe than sorry

So, will Rice and Williams be known as Dash and Hash? Sorry, I couldn't resist...

One downside is for my fantasy team with Rice...I'm sure Ricky will snatch the TDs away from him, Rice does all the work and gets none of the glory

Pretty much a Rice clone, just bigger. He has good hands so he could be another threat when Rice needs a break.
lol pretty much a Rice clone except bigger, and slower, and older and looks different

Haha I love me some ricky williams, the dude has a lot of issues but he was a great running back for a long time. With all the suspensions he's had he must be fresher than most 33 year old running backs. We desperately needed someone to take some carries away from Rice so that Rice can have a long, productive career.

I say give Ricky a bunch of those stupid HB runs up the gut for 3 yards that Cam LOVES so much for some insane reason. We want to get Rice out in space and give him quality chances to break off big gains and get 1 on 1 opportunities. Let Ricky run off guard and maybe catch a few out of the backfield, and let Rice run most of off tackle, hb toss, sweeps, screen plays, and passing downs.

I like the signing, but I'm not going to get too excited about it. The good thing is that the addition of LEACH ups the value of this signing. With the push we should get from Yanda and Leach, Ricky with have some nice seams to run through and look better than he really is.

I like the idea of him pounding the goal line, giving different looks for Ray Rice. Still need a WR, i seen a rumor/advice that we should pursue Lee Evans from the bills, Veteran with speed and a good guy off the field? Anyone agree with this being a smart idea

this move definitely caught me off guard! i'm kinda on the fence on this one.

i think Ricky is a nice compliment to Ray Rice however, at age 34? i thought that our "young pup" Allen would get his opportunity. but, Rice, Williams and Leach? our running game just got umm....what does coach Harbs love to say? oh yeah...."better!" :229031_rofl:
