they lose their best CB, so that means they can now afford to double team the WR across from Hall? That's...interesting. You'd think it works the other way, but to each his own ,,,,

JJ leaving for Houston will open up a hole for Flacco. I'm also of the opinion that Dickson and Pitta will be big for us this year, which I think will really help Flacco against the cover 2 teams out there.

I don't quite remember how often they used double teams with both Hall and JJ. I don't quite remember which one got the help more often.

You're right in that they could more afford to double team someone before. But regardless, now I would imagine the man opposite Hall will get that help and quite frequently.

Flacco could pick apart the Cincy D even if Joseph was still there...he had a bad game, he's better than he showed againt the Bengals in week 2?

the Browns and Bengals are not teams we have to worry about this year..and maybe for a few years

all the more reason I cant wait to see them. Boldin and Hall all day long....gotta love that matchup. Even money that Hall curls into the fetal position sucking his thumb by the 3rd quarter ,,,,,,,,,,,,

You mean like his awesome 125 yard, 0 TD, 1 INT performance against them in Week 17? Where the Bengals turned the ball over 5 times and the Ravens offense still only managed 13 points?

lol, maybe we should sign troy and release Flacco. Then we'd have something to be really excited about.

they've been better defensively but its not like they are anything special, our entire offense started to fade in the last few weeks of the regular season, so it wasnt just flacco, the run game was nonexistent as well

More like Mr. Realistic.

I could see some positive in beating a team by scoring that few points... IF the Ravens hadn't been sacrificing the defensive dominance they've had the last decade in order to improve the offense the last couple years. When they make those kind of moves, you expect the offense to, you know... score points. Well, obviously the offense still hasn't figured out Mike Zimmer's defense. Luckily Ray Lewis and Ed Reed were still around to dominate the Bengals offense. Sadly, they won't be around too much longer... and it would be nice to fix the offense BEFORE they leave.

The problem with losing to Indianapolis all the time is also the offense not doing anything. A good defense can keep Peyton Manning at bay for 3 quarters... but not an entire game while being on the field 90% of it. A great defense can do it for 3 and a half quarters, like in the 2006-2007 playoffs. But eventually, your offense has to score against their anemic defense. Perhaps this is the year that finally happens... but I'd sure like to feel more comfortable going into the season. I'm not convinced Boldin is better for this offense(or Flacco) than Mason. And I'm not sure letting go of either one of them was better than keeping them both for one more run, then letting them both go after the season and letting Torrey Smith, Tandon Doss, and whoever else take over when they get a FULL preseason.

I feel the Ravens are extremely fortunate that no other team in the division did much to improve themselves this offseason. They better win the AFC North this year, and hopefully by the time the playoffs come the Ravens have a bye week, get lucky enough to get 2 favorable match-ups to get them to the Super Bowl.

And if they get that far, they probably have more drive than any other team in the league with older veterans like Reed who have never been. And there's absolutely no better city for the BALTIMORE RAVENS to win the Super Bowl in.... than Indianapolis. To huff, and puff, and blow Irsay's little brick stadium down. Ray Lewis can do his dance right on the center of that field.

Really, I'm rooting for this team. I just don't feel they're doing everything they could to win it all. And yes, I'd take a championship this year even if it meant missing the playoffs next year.

I'm with you on that. If Dickson and Pitta can turn in Gronkowski/Hernandez type numbers our "WR troubles" will become "In Oz We Trust" pretty soon lol
