Why not bring back Housh if we really wanted a veteran? My guess is they want the younger guys to get a chance. There's kind of a trade off between having depth and letting your younger players have a real opportunity.

How can he help us? He had back surgery and couldnt pass a physical. This is not an upgrade from Mason. How could we expect him to make it through a whole season with back and knee problems. I don't like this move. I hope It's not true just like the rest of the none reliable news we been getting.

I rather have TJ the guy would play out his mind especially what happen last year in playoffs. I think he would be extra motivated.

Seriously,I don't get it why we don't push for TJ. The guy is bigger, faster, stronger, younger than Mason and has the same crisp route running. Like you said, he would be extra motivated to come back and show he's a starter in this league. If we indeed wanted Mason back, then the next step is to offer Housh a contract, he's basically an improved version of Mason. Ok, he complained but it's not like he killed someone, got into jail or was a distraction every week. Don't forget he took a huge discount to be here,a move not many long-time Raven players would have pulled

ageed, I welcome back TJ not sure were we would put him in the depth chart but a little experiance could not hurt. Cotchery is a bum pre madona past his prime. Not worth the mony not any better than TJ does not know our system totaly bad move. I lik wjhat OZ is doing he is developing a WR core not trying to make make a old all star team watch the Jets and Eagles will be so riddled with injury by half way through the season it will be great.

This is getting old. Everybody is interested in joining the Ravens then signs with someone else. I am sure we are going to find someone who really wants to play for us. Right now we seem to be everybodys favorite bargaining chip. The young guys we have should really take this as motivation and show the doubters "why not us?" We'll get some vetern depth at WR, but on our terms not theirs!

While I wouldn't be opposed to Cotchery or Houshmandzadeh, my only concern with Housh is his temper, which the Ravens have done a good job of handling on offense and defense. I wouldn't want Housh throwing his helmet again on a bad call like he did with the Bengals. You never know when those outbursts could cost the Ravens some precious yards in a crucial game.

I'd rather have Housh back. Familiar with the system already, not falling apart with injuries and might have the extra motivation to prove himself after how last season ended.

From now on I'm just going to assume that we have our WRs for this year already on the roster.

Until I see it on the news section of this site, I don't believe it.

Id rather go with the rookies than Housh. Housh dropped a pass that he should have caught. No way. hes washed up and hes just getting slower and less athletic. ill take torrey smith. kids a burner.

Ya' know, we CAN have Torrey Smith, Tandon Doss AND a veteran besides Boldin.

James Hardy has "potential", but this is his 4th year in the NFL. Last year he was out with an injury. The previous 2 seasons he had 10 receptions for 96 yards. Yes, 10 receptions for his career.

Jerricho Cotchery isn't Jerry Rice, but he's only 29, 6' tall, and has had a productive career playing with unproductive QBs throwing to him:

2006: 82 receptions, 961 yds.
2007: 82 receptions, 1130 yds.
2008: 71 receptions, 856 yds.
2009: 57 receptions, 825 yds.
2010: 41 receptions, 433 yds.

Yes, the youth movement is the RIGHT decision, but there's no need to rely SOLELY on rookies and completely inexperienced players, and jeopardize your playoff chances, just to give them seasoning.

Cotchery is a great character guy who will fit right in if we get him. However, why are we all insistent that Torrey, Reed and Doss won't be good enough? The Front office and the coaching staff know what to do and they will do right by the Ravens. So I am not too worried about finding that WR at all!

Some interesting figures from Jamison Hensley:

jamisonhensley Jamison Hensley
Take away Boldin and the avg age of #Ravens WRs and TES is 24 yrs old. Group combined to make just 12 catches at the NFL level last year

Talk about youth.

Let's not give Jamison Hensley any attention. He's a reporter unable to report facts.

True, but it's not as though he's reporting news of a signing. The only way he's reporting falsely there is if he can't count.
